+angus keenan You must be kidding? Or you work for the local council? The parking is $4 per hour at Tallows Beach, which is a total rip-off. The beach is nice, not really a beach for swimming though, and there's no shade. It's not easily accessible without a car. Charging $4 per hour is a slap in the face. The council up there are out of control with their parking regime. They now have patrol cars cruising the streets of Byron Bay scanning number plates of parked cars. What a serene beach to enjoy. If you like calmness and privacy this is the best beach in Byron Bay. The Main beach was too crowded so we went to this beach to enjoy our romantic time. One caution - this beach is not monitored by any lifegurad and the waves are quite big. Perfect for surfing but of you go there just for swimming then stay close to the shore.
