My wife and I played this course on a recent long weekend in Port Douglas (July 24) and had a ball. On the trip we played the Mirage and the Sea Reef. They’re both fun courses with welcoming staff and a relaxed vibe. If I had to pick a favorite it would be this one though. Simply because it offered a lot more challenge. The course was presented in good order. A few bunkers were staked and out of play but the vast majority were in play. The grass cover on the fairways, the greens and around the greens was terrific. Club house staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Although most of the locals were way older than us, they all took time to have a chat and made us feel welcome at their club. Would definitely go back and play again if I was holidaying up here. The only thing to bear in mind is that this is a championship course. It’s not easy. If you’re a complete hacker, just starting out or want somewhere to take the kids for a muck around and a hit, I wouldn’t come here. Try the Mirage just up the road instead. As for price it’s more expensive than Mirage, but you get what you pay for and I felt it was decent value compared to other similar courses I’ve played here in Oz. Final note, try the burger at club house. It was worth...

I started with two swings on the first hole tee box and noticed it is sloped with the grass chunked from old divots. Proceed and you will find noticeable ground under repair in various places, culminating in a green that had more dips then a couple of bunkers. When asking for a refund, I was treated with contempt. Not even a partial refund was available. “The course is not responsible if you find it to be too difficult.” The whole routine seemed rehearsed and had nothing to do with my polite complaint. I’m just not feeling it to play this round, for the price that they was charged. In hindsight, I was clearly being taken advantage of from the get go. Even while staying at the resort and not getting published discount, Starting at 3:50 for the Twilight, $115 was a worse deal then $180 for a normal round would have been. Then they expect you to be In the clubhouse before 5:45. So their prices and location set you up, To get on the first tee box, and think I’m not doing this to then be told “I picked the wrong day to argue with him.” Whatever, I’ve Enjoyed every other part of this...

What an utter disappointment. We came to use the Clubhouse for lunch and were told there was only a limited menu as their deep fryer was OOO. This was the same story we got 5 days ago. We were staying at the adjoining resort where the sign entering the golf course clearly advertised a Friday evening meal service. After a long day sightseeing we arrived at 6:30 to find the place in darkness. Today’s lunch experience was just as deflating, my wife asked if the Haloumi in the salad could be replaced with ham, a stern no from the “chef” although ham was being served in other dishes. I asked to see something on one of the many TV’s that were all turned off, the answer was no. My wife went to pay for lunch and was told cash only after had bought drinks an hour before and used EFTPOS. Further went to use the men’s toilet only to find the only two urinals were also OOO. The place is tired and unwelcoming, save your money and go elsewhere! P.S. The young staff I’m sure are trying their best although I did think the...

I’m not sure why there has been so many complaints? Sure maybe wet season the course struggles a bit, all courses up here would! But my experience was very good! Got to the pro shop where I had already booked the tee time, my cart, clubs and even the esky was awaiting! Yes the esky was full of ice and ready to go! The course presents itself beautifully!! The greens are on very good condition, as is the fairways. There was probably only a couple of greens where there was a blemish or 2? Didn’t affect play at all! Plenty of green keepers working hard spraying, mowing, fixing the course as we went through the 18 holes (again didn’t affect play!) I would recommend this course to anyone and certainly be back! Thanks for a great course!

I played this course 18/04/2024 and payed $175 to play 18 holes. After a lot of rain preceding my game the course stood up quite well. However forgetting the rain, every green on the course was deplorable, weeds growing all over the green, greens having been cored, impossible to putt truly, cups were furry like they hadn’t been moved for weeks. Pro shop looked like they were getting ready to move out, seemed like the whole place was losing money ready to close up.
