I recently visited Diamond Head for a camping trip, drawn in by its breathtaking beach and serene surroundings. While the natural beauty of the place exceeded expectations, my experience was marred by an unfortunate encounter with one of the camp workers.

While watching a soccer match, my excitement led me to inadvertently violate the camp's noise rules after 10:00 pm. Instead of addressing the situation calmly, the worker approached our site with aggression, shouting at us without asking any questions and telling us to shut up. This lack of communication was both surprising and disappointing.

To make matters worse, we discovered that this worker had also yelled at our kids the day before, failing to communicate the concerns directly to us as parents. After reading reviews, it appears that others have faced similar issues with the same worker, reporting instances of being yelled at and told to shut up.

On a positive note, the lady at the reception was exceptionally kind and hospitable, showcasing a level of customer service that was sorely lacking in the behavior of the aforementioned worker.

While the natural charm of Diamond Head is undeniable, the negative interactions with the worker left a lasting impact on our overall experience. I hope that management takes note of these concerns and addresses the need for better communication and customer service to ensure a more enjoyable stay for...

Stayed at kylies beach camp ground national park. The camp grounds at Diamond head were full and booked out so stayed around at Kylies beach. ||The sites were clean and plenty of space to yourself. There are toilet blocks and cold showers. No powered site so have solar panels ready to go.||Site fees were cheap and the manager checks in every morning he was very friendly. The facilitate is cleaned daily. Wildlife will come and visit the camp grounds.||A short walk and yr on the beach which is not patrolled but some spectacular views.||A short drive around to diamond head camp ground were there was good access to a rocky point for spear fishing/snorkelling. Here we found a variety of sea life. Bream, black fish, whiting, parrot fish & other reef fish. There were turtles, large rays swimming past and some of the biggest wobbegong sharks I’ve seen. ||Laurieton is only a 10minute drive and has all the shops you need if you run out of supplies or if you want to get back to hustle and bustle before yr holiday has finished Port Macquarie is only 40 minute drive away.||A sensational camping spot and I will definitely be...

We did the Diamond Head Loop walk in mid-June. The walk starts at the Diamond Head Campground where we parked our car. A few things to note if you are planning to do this walk. 1. We recommend that you wear good walking boots as the track is primarily loose stones that can make the ground underneath you very unsteady. 2. We took walking sticks with us and were thankful for the added steadiness they gave us on certain sections of this walk. 3. The walk itself is sometimes shown on maps as the Headland Walk and then loops around to the Forest walk - both tracks make up the Diamond Head Loop Track 4. More information needs to be forthcoming from the Park Ranger staff who didn't tell us about the quartz crystal content that makes up the peninsula nor the reflective (diamond-like) effect in sunlight 5. They also didn't point out how to get to the rock formations that are evidently quite unique in this area so please do your own research before landing here. 6. There are a many camper-fed kangaroos here as well as a few goannas which again we discovered on our own. The only mention of wildlife was birds.

This is a really nice camping ground, which sits right next to the beach! It's suitable for both tents and camper vans. Keep in mind that even if you're just using the parking for a day, you'll need to pay a small fee though, although I consider this worthwhile to help pay for the upkeep of the national park. If you're planning to visit, make sure that you take the time to enjoy the beach, but also consider checking out some of the walking tracks nearby - you can get some spectacular views. If you're ok with a bit of climbing, you should also consider walking across the rocks to the right when you get to the beach. If you decide to go much further than the initial section, you'll want to make sure you're doing it at low tide, since there are some sections that would be very difficult to traverse safely if the tide was rising. The wallabies here were extremely tame, and approached us while we were eating lunch, clearly wanting some. If you visit, please don't feed them anything, and keep an eye on young children, as they may not like it if people get too touchy with them.

We loved the location and the National Park. Facilities were good also, however the staff was really rude to us since we arrived. We were a large group of people (I sometimes organise group camping) and I believe they instantly assumed we will be trouble just for the fact there was many of us. They even complained that some people did not do the check and came to were we set up the tents checking on us. In fact we had actually paid for more people that could not make it at the end and everyone there checked in as soon as they arrived (except the few that arrive very late at night and that did next day). On top of this, they angrily first spoke to us saying "'Do you understand what I am saying?" Not sure if they said this because most of us were internationals and the though we could not speak English. Very irritating. Putting this experience aside we had an amazing time and we loved the walk around the National Park.
