This walk is a must do. It took us 2 hours and 50 minutes, but I did the walk with a 3 year old and a disabled 70 year old, and we did the extra detour to Kylie's Hut. The road to drive there is best suited to 4WD as it's dirt, but other cars could cope if going slow. We parked at Diamond Head Campground so that also added a little extra to the walk (worth it for the helpful staff and beach access). It could be done as a quicker loop from the other campground.
The path does have some slightly steep sections but was manageable. It was extremely windy the day we went, so the area closest to the cliff edge was a bit dangerous (not suitable for kids in that weather, I had to carry mine through that section). The path is small rocks. In dry weather it was easy to walk on.
Came across kangaroos on the path which was a cute surprise. The views are spectacular. The plant life is dry scrub so there's not much shade (hat, sunscreen and water necessary). There are tonnes of flowers in Spring. Such a beautiful example of native flora thriving in harsh conditions. Enjoy the walk, it's...
Read moreThis was my favourite walk, coastal with a bit of bushland so fit it into your plans! I went during a weekday so I only saw about 2 other hikers which made it even more serene, the walk itself wasn’t tough and you can’t get lost on the track :) almost got lost on the way to the entry though as accidentally turned into the camp site, the camp site has direct access to the beach if you want to go for a swim...
Read moreGreat loop walk! Definitely a ‘sunscreen-sunnies-sneakers-hat’ kind of walk, and some of the path was eroded due to rain I assume. There are some great smaller trails too. I saw kids with parents, trail runner, and others on the trail too. Great views, and information signs throughout. Directional signs very easy to follow from Indian Camp or Diamond Head Camp. Did get bit by a bullant...
