So easy to reach to, it’s around 2 hours from Sydney and you still feel as if you have walked into a rain forest… the best lookout according to me is first one, although it gives partial view it gives you a view of the forest…

Fitzroy Falls, situated in the northern part of Morton National Park, offers breathtaking waterfalls, bushwalks, picnic spots, and a Visitor Centre. The Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre, an award-winning facility designed with eco-tourism principles, provides information on walking trails, camping, educational tours, and wildlife displays.

Visitors can explore timber boardwalks and numerous lookouts that offer spectacular views of sandstone escarpments and waterfalls plunging into rainforest valleys. The area features 6km of walking tracks with interpretive signs, environmental and cultural heritage displays, and 15 lookouts to view the falls.

The Visitor Centre includes a shop offering souvenirs, maps, postcards, brochures, and local crafts. An education room provides interactive displays for children and exhibitions on regional flora and fauna. Facilities include toilets, two electric BBQs, and three picnic huts with tables and benches.

A parking fee of $4.00 per vehicle applies. The Visitor Centre operates daily from 9am to 4pm, except on...

I can see why this stop has the visitor centre. The Best all round view of both the valley and water falls with ample car parking and solid walking track only a short distance and all the way to the initial lookout. Car parking requires $4 day pass purchased from machines if not a NSW annual pass holder. Toilets clean. Cafe closed but refreshments available in the gift store. Asked the info desk about some local knowledge of the walking options and their advice on weather given a thunderstorm was rolling in and I have young kids. I got told it’s only 3 minutes walk just go. We didn’t even make it to the toilet block before the storm started and then I watched heaps of people running back in torrential rain and hail from my dry perch. I wouldn’t recommend taking any advice from this info desk hence the four stars. After the rains, we headed out on the easy flat 3 minute walk on solid path to the initial lookout. Going further to Jersey lookout was dirt and steps making it unsuitable for prams but easy walk for small children. We saw a lyrebird. Be warned: The visitor centre closed at 4pm, including closing...

Great Visitor Centre with helpful staff and info on the area as well as maps. Located between the car park and the beginning of the walking tracks to Fitzroy Falls. Parking is $4 or free if you have a NSW Park Pass - the pass is worth it as it’s $65 for an annual pass and if you visit national parks just a handful of times it pays for itself, highly recommend. Some people complain about the parking fee but revenue is necessary to maintain our beautiful parks and access them freely. There is no further fee. The cafe as well as the seating is currently closed due to covid so be sure to pack snacks and water if going for the longer walks. The toilets are available as well as a decent picnic area adjacent to the centre. The first lookout is only 150m from the visitor centre and is an easy walk. There are tracks along the east and west rim of the fall with distances suitable to all age groups...
