Incredible information centre and museum. Excellent display of early Gayndah history and historic buildings from yesterday past. This is our first actual visit to this historic town that is famous as being the first established town/settlement in Queensland. We have driven through on a number of occasions before but never stopped. This visit was intentional and was just to walk around this old town to learn about its history. Well worth it.

Gayndah Historical Museum, what a great place. This is a place you should not miss if you are travelling through the area. There is a lot of history and items from yesteryear. Do yourself a favour and take the time to stroll through this beautiful place and reflect on a bygone area.

Fantastic. So much memorabilia and information. We were talking to the gentleman who was volunteering today and asked him a question. At Paradise Dam they have a walkaround with past history. There is a photo of the Cemetery and every grave was facing East except for one. The reason being is that Christians burial site's face East but the one facing West is that that person may have committed suicide. Suicide is against the law. Gayndah is a lovely town to visit once you walk around and talk...

Stopped here first when we arrived in Gayndah. The volunteer staff are fabulous. So helpful and fantastic mud map drawers. Went back after lunch to look through the museum and the knowledge and stories the staff member could tell was great. Lots of pictures of the 1942 and 2013 floods. And the Lungfish. Great display. I spent over an hour here and really only had a Quick Look around. Well done to the volunteers of this organisation. You do a...
