What an amazing place, not just the history. All the staff, from checking in, our guide Bill and the cafe staff on the way out. Now the fish, standing and feeding them you will think they are big but when you get back up the top.... You realize how big.

Read moreParonella Park and Mena Creek township - loved the whole experience. The Paddock camping ground. We stayed 2 nights. It was good to have a whole day to enjoy Paronella by day and night and the cute little village. The Camping is Lush as were the amenities ✨ wow! super nice camping with grassy flat sites and a good spot to re group after a few weeks of travelling. Dixie our 4 legged best mate loved it also. I actually also really liked that there are no on-site managers and the pet friendly side of things was left up to the owners common sense… all to often there is a caravan park manager ready to pounce on a dog owner for 5 minutes of off leash action for pooch… anyway… onto the pub! The Mena Creek Pub - literally seconds from camp to bar - depending where you camp, to a cold bevy and great pub food all served up by super friendly staff. Now the main attraction - Paronella Park - can’t love crush this place enough… we got to meet the owner mark - what a top bloke! And our tour guide Bill - you were brilliant mate.. what an experience you provided us all. I won’t forget it. And then wandering peacefully around the park… blown away by the beauty. Just incredible. So grateful we got to visit. And then the night time experience… again, the 2 female tour guides were so brilliant and fun - and again, Mark the owner started the night time tour by thanking us for coming and thanking his staff for doing such good work- loved it! What a great vibe. Paronella Park - do not miss...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a pretty historic site with a rich history this is a great place to stop. As with Mamu skywalk, even the drive to this place is picturesque. I went here as part of a chill mini holiday (i did not stay on site). I was impressed with how friendly the staff were here and how much our tour guide Ben made the story of the Paronella family come to life for us. I appreciate the sense of humor spun into the history of the place. The buildings here are not that old as far as heritage sites go but the building materials used versus several natural disasters having gone through the place have damaged the structures and thus they are not safe to go inside of. I felt I got close enough to appreciate the architecture and what this place would have been in years past. The waterfalls of Mena creek are beautiful and the lush greenery is relaxing, it has a gift shop, cafe and toilets. I probably spent about 2 -3 hours here.
I can agree with others that once you have seen the place you probably wouldn’t go back a second time. I would have liked some kind of reinforced structure or way to get you to the viewing level of the castle. Even if it’s seperate from the castle itself. I feel as though the brochures for this place make it seem like you can go up there (perhaps at one point you could).
Other than that, this place is definitely worth a visit if you’re someone who likes history and...
