It's in an unlikely area, hidden away behind an ugly industrial zone, but I felt like I'd stepped through a portal in time to a secret home and garden. Unfortunately the house wasn't open as they were preparing for a function the following day but, even though they were closed, we were invited to walk through the gardens which were beautiful.

A wonderful historic home, rich with history and charm. An amazing garden and surrounds. Highly recommend Riversdale, spend some quality time walking through the home and abundant gardens.

You'll find Riversdale at the back of Goulburn Gaol, hidden behind an expanse of barbed wire and watch towers. To make an uneasy situation worse, the National Trust (the people who run the place) choose to open some days and not others which makes a visit only really half a visit. We did get to see half, yes but only after we'd been snarled at by some women sitting around a coffee table playing poker or some such. Not a pleasant experience at...

I enjoyed visiting Riversdale. Beautiful home and the furniture is a reminder of hand making furniture back in that time. Lovely lady gave me the tour around the property. See the kitchen out the back. Gardens to wander around in. Beautiful clothes on display. 12.00 to enter...
