atlantic salmon - crispy skin where - no lemon tang in lemon butter sauce and it was lumpy like unmixed flour , fish and chips - definitely flathead but overcooked / thawed too long vary similar to frozen fish fingers and no lemon wedge , classic parmagiana , sauce tasted like pureed tomato no real flavour , cheese was oily and runny not grilled , garlic bread was at best a herb bread and was over cooked - burnt and not appealing , no cutlery on the self serve sideboard , fish arrived first and waited another 15 mins for other dishes , waitress walked past us with our other two meals to verandah area , little confusing i suppose when all the tables are numbered , asked if i wanted glasses with a request for a bottle of water , beyond a joke this time , new chef ?? been there a few times before for both breakfast and lunch mostly not too bad , but today has left me speechless , suggest management occasionally try the food secretly , maybe some staff may be shaped up or shipped out , will not go back again but will try the restaurant straight across the street from them , ps the bakery pies are well worth it ,and the waffle stand is a definite for a sweet snack , sorry heritage but you have lost one family today and word spreads quickly , a restaurant charging this much should produce better quality . sorry but none of us...
Read moreI went on a Saturday mid morning. Markets are on Sunday so it was quieter. This place is nice, the potential of it is enormous. Who ever owns this (the council and YMCA) as I understand it, are doing this Village a huge disservice by not promoting them in any way. As I followed google maps, I was astonished to not see any road signs or promotion of this village. I breaked suddenly as I came to a small brown sign directing me off the main road into a small village off the side of the road- that's Old Petrie Town. There's cafes, shops selling all different clothes/ homewards, a candy shop. Priced at tourist town prices with literally no tourism. They are fighting to stay open because councils threatening to shut them down. If they helped promote them and get all shops filled and open everyday, it would thrive. I stopped at pottery studio on my way out (it's down the back of the village and I grabbed my car from the parking lot to traveldown there), they were open but running a class of some kind. Not one person greeted or spoke to me. I was there to buy, I wouldn't go back again. Some parts remind me of Sovereign Hill which I love, but it's so under utilised and valued its a shame to see it the way it was this day. Supporting them will help and hopefully it'll grow...
Read moreOur Son & new Daughter celebrated with families & friends their Wedding day. Their ceremony in the beautiful gardens within Old Petrie Town grounds. Then we were ushered into the hotel there for Canapes & refreshments, whilst the Newly Weds had a photo shoot. Next we all went down to a beautifully decorated hall on the grounds for the Reception. Where everyone had a great night celebrating 🍾 ☺️ with the Bride & Groom their very special day. No hassles with parking we had plenty to spare, having everything within the same grounds was so great. One car trip to the venue & one car trip to home at the end of the night. As for drinking & driving that wasn't a problem as the happier, more stumblier folks all had arranged a D'Driver. Or stayed at nearby motels an uber away. Which was also handy for family travelling from interstate areas, which there was a few families. But a great night at a really great Park or Old day Township. Also have to give a big Nod out to all the fantastic staff, that also made this a very memorable great event. They were all so hospitable friendly & curtious, made for a terrific night 🌙 🍾☺️😀⭐️⭐️ I rate this very awesome place with...
