3 Stars for the Lovely Lady in the souvenir shop. But so disappointed with the attitude and service of the young girl with long dark hair. We were greated with a look of oh no,there going to want food & we close in one hour. Followed by the rolling of the eyes when asked about an item on the menus. Not a smile in sight the whole time. The meal was very average & coffee served with thumbs holding the rim of the cup & just warm. I spent $100 on food & souvenirs, money next time I'll spend elsewhere, I won't be back. Hay has some wonderful coffee stops. One being the The Convent, the service & food was terrific. What a great addition to the town. There are also a couple in the main Street that...

We personally had horrible time and I can hear you ask why did I give four star rating.

It was 38deg C when we visited and we are not quite sure when in life we could get back here.

Couldn't choose weather as Hay was our stop over during our trip to Adelaide.

If you can't pick weather, atleast pick the shearing show timing. The guy doing the show is so pationate that he takes you into that space if you are paying attention.

There is a good restaurant here but we reached there in closing time.

The museum is really good. If you didn't pay attention to the guy in shearing show, relax here in air-conditioning and watch it on tv.

Gift shop is good...

Excellent place to visit while in Hay!! The lady at the front counter was really friendly and warmly welcomed us in and told us about the Museum and demonstration. The museum was well laid out and very interactive and informative. The shearing shed was beautiful and we managed to get up close to some sheep waiting to be shorn. We bought some excellent souvenirs, the gift shop had some really good Australiana merchandise. The same lady at the front checked us out and wished us a safe trip! Highly recommend the stop here. I didn't even know this museum dedicated to our sheep shearing history existed, yet I am so glad a local recommended it. So much history regarding the shearing industry is presented in an entertaining and informative way. The staff were very friendly and were happy to give us suggestions on other local places worth a visit. I learned so much about our wool industry and was entertained the whole time.

Great display with interactive features with stories told by the Shearer's and personalities. An impressive collection of memorabilia. The shearing demonstration was fun and informative. Our ticket was valid for 2 days so we came back the next morning for a delicious breakfast in their Cafe and finished looking through everything. My two small dogs were welcomed.
