My recent visit to this charming tourist attraction left me thoroughly delighted. This unique train, which has been a fixture for over two decades, offers a delightful blend of nostalgia and fun.The insitu train hosts a variety of themed carriages, each with its own distinct character. The South African carriage, with its biltong and braii offerings, provided a delicious taste of South Africa's cuisine. The fairy carriage, on the other hand, transported me to a whimsical world of enchantment. The gift shop carriage was a treasure trove of souvenirs and mementos, perfect for taking home a piece of the experience. And who could resist the pancake carriage, where I enjoyed some mouthwatering pancakes? One thing that truly impressed me was the ample parking available, making my visit hassle-free. The small playground was a great addition, especially for families with children, and the presence of clean toilets was much appreciated. But that's not all; the site's second-hand and antique dealership was a hidden gem in itself. I spent hours browsing through unique finds and couldn't resist taking home a few vintage treasures.Overall, this attraction is a testament to its enduring charm and the warm hospitality of its hosts. Whether you're a tourist or a local, I highly recommend visiting this timeless gem for a memorable experience that combines history, fun, and a...

Visited the pancake train with my elderly frail father today. Ben and his staff were so kind, thoughtful and helpful.

I had the King Island beef pie with salad and amazing chutney. Fabulous and thoroughly recommend. Frankly, the nicest pie I have ever had. Loads of filling, tasty and such beautifully light pastry. Yum!

Dad had eggs Benedict with bacon and hollandaise on sour dough toast, and it was both substantial and delicious!

Seriously good coffee too!

But the highlight for us was the wonderful personalised service. If you hanker for proper old-fashioned attentive, caring service, look no further!

The train carriage is very comfy, and full of character. Limited seating, so not too crowded or noisy. The food is freshly prepared, served promptly and is really delicious.

If you are looking for a unique/novel family dining experience with first class service then book the Margate pancake train. (SO much more than pancakes! ) Excellent free parking too!

It is super popular so booking ahead recommended, otherwise just browse in the numerous other carriages until a table becomes available. Inside and outside tables available.

Margate pancake train! Old fashioned milkshakes, spiders, pancakes, and delicious meals! Your next destination for the whole family! You will not be...

AWESOME food with gluten free options! Something fun and different for us and our kids. We were a group of 19 and did book ahead, but the manager Ben was so relaxed about it all and happy to accommodate us, even checking on us himself afterwards. Only slight criticism would be the ordering system, whereby we had to order table by table despite the fact we all had kids sitting together at other tables. I understand it might be easier for the kitchen, but it was confusing for some of us and caused a couple of minor issues. Would otherwise highly recommend, and would definitely make a return visit if we were ever coming back...

Great place to visit if you are a tourist or a local. Huge selection of your favourite things in life. We loved the Choo Chew Lolly Shop carriage. it's become a must stop and refill supplies b4 heading back over to the mainland.. Love the Choc Rasberry bullets, the Caramel peanut brittle is to die for and love love the map of Tassie freckles, both little pre packed and the giant freckles. 😍 Great selection of old school candy, sour, and new products. Be sure to stop by and say G'day to Sam. Great customer service with a cheery smile. Great little place to take back some gifts also to the mainland. See you again soon.

I recently visited Pancake Train for the second time, and once again, it didn’t disappoint! The food is absolutely amazing, with delicious pancakes that are perfectly fluffy and full of flavor. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The service is always friendly and efficient, and the overall vibe just makes you feel at home. What more could you want than great food in a cozy setting? Highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good meal and a great atmosphere!
