Also known as Bents lookout. Hailing from WA, it was quite the novelty to be able to drive to the top of an extremely high mountain - especially one over 1300metres! Given we’ve never driven up a mountain, the actual drive itself was quite an experience, especially if you (& driver) suffer from a fear of heights. 27km up which seemed to take forever. Speed limit signs (in our opinion) seemed quite generous at time in different spots going up, but we kept our speed quite low. Thankfully it was an extremely quiet traffic day. The views from the top are 100% magnificent! Well worth the trip up. Be aware to keep check upon the weather, as you do not want to be on the mountain if bad weather is forecasted with lots of rain. Apparently the roads can get closed due to rushing water, which would be...

Had a 2 nights stay at Porepunkah. The place is such a paradise 😍. There is so much to explore. The place is loaded with waterfalls, mountain peaks, easy to hard hikes, scenic views. Must watch are Chalet, the Gorge, Mount beauty, Porepunkah, Bright (Bright Brewery), Eurobin falls, Ladies bath, Rollasons falls track (be careful of narrow and slippery paths). A 3.5 hour drive from Melbourne west (Truganina) and mostly a straight drive at 110 Km/h speed. I’ll definitely explore this place more...

Almost all Aussie bike addicts will have heard of Mount Buffalo. “The Buffalo" is absolutely serine, huge rocks loom above the snaking tarmac while beautiful alpine foliage lines the road side. The gradient is peacefully steady, but with pitches of above single digits it’s certainly nothing to sneer at. The lookout at the top is amazing. It looks out over the beautiful Victorian high country as well as strait down the endless drop with a glass floor. One...

It's an amazing look out area. There are plenty of stops to see but the best is right on the top. There are lots of picnic areas. There is one right at the beginning, there are few on the top and more around the lake. The Chalet is good to walk around. There are lot of flowers out on summer. People absail from the mountain and that's good to look at. On clear days you can see the valley below and most of the mountain range around.

The views from atop Mt Buffalo lookout are incredible. There's multiple lookout platforms that allow you to see for kilometres. The site is also home to the Mt Buffalo Chalet, a now defunct hotel constructed in 1910. The chalet has private tours throughout the year hosted by Parks Victoria. Bookings are essential to ensure you don't miss out. Mt Buffalo Lookout also offers absailing and paragliding for those after adventure.
