Located in Mount Buffalo National Park, this stunning rock formation offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape.

As you reach the lookout, you'll be greeted by the granite peak, resembling the horn of a buffalo. On a clear day, you can spot Mount Hotham, Mount Feathertop, and Mount Buller.

The lookout is accessible via a partly unsealed road, which is open during warmer months. Take the short but steep 1.5-kilometer hike up to the summit for even more spectacular views.

Enjoy the lookout during sunrise or sunset for a truly unforgettable experience but on a sunny day the views are no less to be stunning.

Bring a picnic and enjoy the scenic views from the comfort of the picnic area. In winter, access the lookout via a groomed cross-country ski trail or snowshoe your way to the top.

Overall, The Horn Lookout is an...

Embarking on an Easter weekend adventure, we journeyed to the majestic Horn Lookout and were utterly captivated by its serene beauty nestled amidst breathtaking mountains. A tranquil haven awaited us, adorned with three or four inviting picnic tables and a charming hut offering respite from the scorching sun. The short, yet delightful hike of just 20-25 minutes rewarded us with a panoramic vista of the Australian Alps, a sight to behold from every angle. While weekends may draw a crowd, the journey from Melbourne, though lengthy, was a scenic delight, infusing our spirits with joy. To fellow explorers and nature enthusiasts, I wholeheartedly recommend this gem for an...

Should I have driven up to here in my little hatchback? Probably not. Was it worth it? YOU BET.

The view: as you expected, magnificent. The walk up to the summit was short and very fun (round trip of 45 mins for me, including photos at the top). Little bit of climbing up rocks at the top, and a little slippery after rain, but very doable - rails up the top certainly helped. Me as an average (sedentary) girl managed fine. Nice 360 views up the top.

The journey: the last bit of gravel road stretch made me poop my pants and I was silently encouraging my lil car to make it up. It was fine but a struggle.

Def worth the drive up Mt Buffalo, and I'm so...
