Nelsons Beach — Attraction in Jervis Bay

Jervis Bay, 09 Dec 2020 ⁣ Outlying Islands of Taiwan - Matsu. Blue Tears is famous there. I haven't visited there and have never seen it. So I tried to find it in AU. ⁣ The locals in Jervis Bay gave me advice in the Bioluminescence community that they had lived there for 40 years and only saw it less than three times and reminded me not to be disappointed. I still rented a car from SYD to JB for three days and drove to the various beaches to search. ⁣ I look for it during the day and night. Obviously, even if no blue algae there, it’s definitely a paradise! Every beach is quiet. There has some lovely family time, with soft white sand, clean water, no waves. But I couldn't find Bio those days. I’ve searched for pink tide during the day, but there was no sign at all. ⁣ Finally, I was lucky to see it on my last night in Nelsons Beach, Vincentia. When I noticed it, I thought it’s my hallucination. As I calmed down, my eyes gradually adjusted to the dark, the waves glowed blue. ⁣ They glow sometimes but mostly faint. I know this is not the best state of Bio in JB, especially if you’ve seen successful photos, but I still feel fortunate! It’s just hard to shoot. I tried MF for a long time there. Whether it is the glow of the distant wave or the shimmering blue particles that rush to my feet' surroundings with the wave, it isn't easy to measure random distances and keep my tripod at a fixed position (easy to sink). ⁣ I had a lens 35/1.4 that night, but it was difficult to use MF to focus the random bio at their distance, and shooting at a close distance was troubled by end of waves that caused the tripod camera to sink. I should use 105/1.4, 85/1.2, 50/1.2 lenses, and laser pointers (AF can be used quickly). ⁣ ⁣ ƒ/2.8 | 33s | ISO1600 | 24mm⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Canon 24-70mm ƒ/2.8L II⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣Canon 5D Mark IV ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 沒親眼見識過馬祖藍眼淚的美麗。據說澳洲這裡除了塔斯，也有一些特定的地方會有，所以就想嘗試在此找尋它並攝影它。 ⁣ 僅管Jervis Bay的local在Bioluminescence的社團給我忠告說，他們在那裡住了40年也僅看過不到三次，提醒我不要太期待，也說我過去如果沒車一定要租車，或騎腳踏車，不然沒有大眾運輸在那，而且他們說租車找bio也是不切實際的。我卻還是從雪梨租了一台車去Jervis Bay住三天試看看，一直在那裡的各個海灘尋找蹤跡。 ⁣ 白天和晚上都找尋。很明顯地，那裡就算沒有藍眼淚，也絕對是天堂。那裡的每一沙灘，有一些的可愛的小家庭在親子休閒、閑靜、好天氣、美麗又柔軟的潔白沙灘，完全清澈的海水，而且沒什麼海浪。不過，我三天都找不到它，而我只能在那裡住三天，我試著在白天看有沒有粉紅色潮水，卻絲毫沒有跡象。 ⁣ 最終，我幸運地在最後一晚看見了它!! 在Nelsons Beach, Vincentia。一開始我用肉眼注意到它時，我以為是我的錯覺。隨著我將我的心靜下來，眼睛逐漸適應黑暗時，眼前的浪花都在發出藍色的微光。 ⁣ 它們時而明顯 時而微光。我知道這不是此地bio的最佳狀態，尤其在我看過那些拍攝非常成功的相片後可以對比當下狀況。但是我依然感到很幸運。只是我難以拍攝成功，我在那裡使用手動對焦嘗試很久。無論是遠處的浪潮的隨機發光，或是隨著浪潮沖至我週圍的閃爍藍色微光的微粒，都很難測量隨機的距離，也很難使機位在固定位置停留。 ⁣ 那晚我有35/1.4 的鏡頭但是很難使用手動對焦遠處的隨機bio，而在近處拍攝則有浪花使架設三腳架的機位下沉的困擾。 我想應該要使用105mm ƒ/1.4, 85mm ƒ/1.2, 50mm ƒ/0.95...

Easily my favourite beach in NSW right now. It is a relatively quiet dog friendly beach with plenty of space. It has plenty of walking tracks nearby that let you overlook the coastline, with clean and easily followed paths. Nelson’s beach also has plenty of residents renting out Airbnb’s nearby allowing you to spend a weekend down there, soaking up the sunshine. Would highly recommend this beach to everyone and it is worth the trip even if you don’t...

We came here during school holidays as an alternative to Hyams beach and it did not disappoint. The facilities are decent, there’s shelter and picnic tables. A nice playground for the kids.
