This is the eighth park we have stayed in on this trip and I'm very disappointed. Not at all as described. I was given a site number and when we got there, another van was partially parked on it. As we were trying to work out how we could fit into our site the other van owner arrived and said his van wouldn't fit on his allocated site so he'd just chosen his own (a lie. He was too lazy to back it in and just parked crossways on ours instead). Despite my protests he insisted I could fit and guided me into the part of my site he wasn't occupying. As there are no sullage outlets at this park (I did not know this when I booked), and his sullage hose run off was on the part of the ground he directed me onto, I got bogged. When I finally managed to get out, I went to the mangers office to ask where I could park, but it was locked. I tried calling but had to leave a message. We waited around for a while for someone to call us back, but ended up just choosing a site ourselves. All the alternative sites were not level by any stretch of the imagination, with tree roots coming through on just about every site, and made for a very uncomfortable stay. With the grey water just running onto the ground it made it a very muddy area and the grey water that was pooling around the basketball court was stagnant and smelled disgusting. The amenities are on the complete opposite side of the park, closest to the cabins that have their own amenities rather than near the van sites. Bad planning. The water in the showers was barely lukewarm. Something you wouldn't expect in such a cold area. The traffic noise was unbelievable for a quiet country town. It's right on the main road with trucks coming through all throughout the night. Had I not been too tired to drive, I would have just left and found somewhere else to stay. There was a lot of dog pooh on the path leading out of the park which was still there 3 days later when we left. When I booked, they advised they don't offer seniors discounts, yet they have a sign on their door that says they cater to seniors. They should offer discounts. They are the most expensive park we have stayed at, with very few facilities, no sullage and rarely any staff in attendance. I would have had better facilities at a free camping site. I certainly would not recommend this park and understand why we and the other guest, who was very rude and condescending, were the only ones there. It's the first time I've counted down the days till I could leave. Just as a comparison, in Eden we had a stunning ensuite site overlooking the water for $8 per night less. The ensuite was nicer than the one I had in a 5 star hotel in...
Read moreIf you've never been to Kangaroo Valley and want somewhere go and to stay this is a great park to visit. Right on the Kangaroo Valley river it's an absolutely beautiful place to visit. Jackie and Ian the park managers as well as the other staff who work there are great. Very clean and comfortable. They have many different options for staying there. From powered or unpowered sites to small cabins for 1 or 2 for an affordable weekend stay or larger cabins for a family or group of friends. I absolutely love staying in this park. It's quiet and serene, waking up there is amazing. If you are an early riser you can see kookaburras getting their breakfast and little finches just fluttering about. Winter in the valley is like another world. The whole valley is drenched in fog and it's incredible. The fog usually lifts around 10am and you know it's going to be a beautiful day in the valley. For a quiet getaway and immersed in the natural beauty of the Valley, I believe it's one of the best places you will ever find. Surrounded by mountains and bushland there's nowhere else quite like Kangaroo Valley. This park is a little gem. It's a short 10-15 mins walk from the village centre. I highly recommend to anyone to visit and enjoy this lovely park at least once in your life. I stay here frequently and everyime I go away revitalised. Kangaroo Valley is a...
