Bouddi Coastal Walk: A Stunning Nature Escape
The Bouddi Coastal Walk, located in Bouddi National Park on the Central Coast of NSW, is a breathtaking trail that perfectly combines coastal beauty, bushland, and serene beaches. Stretching about 8 kilometers one way (16 kilometers return), this walk offers something for everyone, from avid hikers to casual nature lovers.
The trail begins at Putty Beach and weaves along the coastline, offering stunning views of the ocean, sandstone cliffs, and secluded bays. The highlights include Gerrin Point Lookout, which provides panoramic views of the coastline, and Maitland Bay, a secluded beach perfect for a quiet picnic or a refreshing swim. Along the way, you’ll also encounter patches of lush rainforest and wildflowers, especially vibrant in spring.
The track is well-maintained, with a mix of boardwalks, stairs, and natural paths. While it’s not overly challenging, there are sections with steep inclines and stairs, so a moderate level of fitness is helpful. Good walking shoes and plenty of water are essential.
What makes the Bouddi Coastal Walk truly special is its tranquility. Unlike some more popular Sydney trails, this walk feels untouched and peaceful, with fewer crowds to disrupt the natural beauty. Keep an eye out for whales during migration season and enjoy the diverse birdlife along the way.
Whether you’re looking for an adventurous hike or a relaxing stroll through nature, the Bouddi Coastal Walk is a must-visit. It’s a beautiful reminder of how spectacular Australia’s...
Read moreBouddi National Park Coastal Walk. We through hiked about 7 or more kms from Putty Beach Campground (carpark $8 a day, best to just buy a 12 month NSW parks pass) to Macmasters Beach Surf Club. Total duration of 4 hours - including a swim and snacks at Maitland Bay and Little Beach. A small day pack is a luxury, though not essential for the trail runners. I would recommend anyone take a bottle or bladder of water. The track from Putty to Maitland Bay look out is awesome and has been newly renovated. Then heading North the track isn't the smoothest with some water erosion in parts. It must have been raining a lot prior as the track does get a bit muddy, so check the weather days prior to arriving. Unless it doesn't bother you. We caught a ride back to the Putty Beach at the end of the trail. As per the photos the natural beauty and views speak for themselves. Why not get out there and check it out. You'll be up for a...
Read moreWe started the walk from Maitland information Centre towards Putty beach. The stretch of walk was slightly downhill but manageable though need to be careful not to slip on rough terrain. Overall the walk was very Beautiful and picturesque.. you can some small wild flowers along the way which adds to the beauty of the nature reserve. The coastal line with Maitland beach gives a sense of private beach feel that you see in movies. The costal cliffs and the white foam as waves crashes against the cliffs give a rugged feel to the walk.
As you near Putty Beach, you see the boardwalk and tessellated rocks against the cliffs, blue emerald sea, sailing boats, yachts was a sight to behold.
We had someone pick us up at putty beach so the walk was only 4km and not too tiring.
If you only have 1 hour and want to experience the last 1 mile of boardwalk, tessellated rocks and blue seas , I suggest you do a return trip from...
