Borumba Dam Picnic Grounds — Attraction in Lake Borumba

Borumba Dam is about 60km due west of Imbil following Yabba Creek Road out of the town. As you can see from these photos many millions of dollars have been spent on the dam the walkway on the dam that leads on to the other side of the Lake. It is a great place for boating enthusiasts and kids and their Mums and Dads to swim. But unfortunately the Wide Bay Burnette council responsible for this region hasn't provided enough facilities for the the elderly or disabled people. This place has limited to no access to the water and swimming is not allowed. There are limited picnic spots right next to the parking lot and its probably only worth visiting if you have a boat and are keen to get on the water. Borumba Dam Picnic grounds is a day use facility. There is a large well run campsite nearby for those people who like to spend at least a night in the area.
