We had a mixed experience at Stockman’s Ridge. We booked a wine tasting and fire pit; there was a miscommunication with our booking due to this having to be rescheduled due to covid last year. We were initially told we had a fire pit booking but no wine tasting booking; our group then paid for the wine tasting which despite us being the only group at the venue apart from one other couple, took nearly twice as long as it was supposed to as we were often left unattended with no tastings being carried out. When we approached the staff to move onto our fire pit, we were then told they didn’t have a fire pit booking for us (even though we were previously told this was registered - and had been paid for). We were then told despite this being booked it couldn’t be carried out as the weather was unsuitable. We weren’t offered a refund or compensation for this. A foldable table and chairs was set up at the very bottom of the yard for our group to sit; whilst we were very disconnected from the rest of the venue this was actually a blessing in disguise as it felt quite private. There was live music which was fantastic and carried down to where we were sitting providing ambiance whilst not being so loud that we couldn’t carry conversations. There was also a very cute hanging chair in the tree where were seated which made for nice photos. Whilst it wasn’t the exact experience we were expecting and started quite rocky, we ended up having a really lovely afternoon. Would not recommend the fire pit booking unless you’re visiting in winter. There were roadworks on the main road approaching the venue which will affect low cars’ ability to comfortably drive in, however, the venue itself has a good driveway and ample...

Welcoming & convivial. I booked a wine tasting for my party of 3 here yesterday when it was about to storm. We were allocated a table inside & decided to go with the $10 tasting flight. Otherwise u can taste 4 wines for free. The young lady in attendance was by herself but completely delightful. We liked the Pinot gris & the veltliner. A large table came in just before we left. She greeted, seated & served them. We then lined up to pay for our tasting & buy bottles when the system went down & we were all left waiting for a very long time. Did this young lady lose her composure like the monster de (maître de) at Parkview Hotel just a few hours later who refused to honour our reservation made 6 weeks in advance & with written proof of reservation ...no..this young lady explained the situation & we all waited patiently until the system rebooted & we made our payments & said our adieus. The young lady also asked excused herself & gave the large table another round before serving us...did we complain...no...everyone remained calm whilst the young lady conducted herself in a completely professional manner. Parkview Hotel...please take note of how you should be...

Fabulous setting, and fantastic music. Local band- The Darcy Revival were playing while we visited.

So spacious as well, you could be up close to the band or chill out a bit further away under various shade covers to enjoy the music. There was a jumping castle and plenty of room for the kids to play while you sit back and enjoy the wine and entertainment. Plenty of chairs, tables, other seating, and picnic blankets available as well.

For an ‘occasional’ wine drinker like myself, it was great to have other drink options such as spirits, beer and soft drink, as well as water. Good to know if you’re planning a visit to catch some live music out here. At any rate the wine was very nice and it would almost be sacrilege not to try a glass, or bottle whilst there. The bar staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating if you needed help selecting a drink.

I will definitely return as I had such a great time there today. Will definitely try some more of the wine next time...
