I recently visited the Daisy Hill Koala Centre, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience, especially for koala lovers like me! One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to get up close with not one, not two, but three charming koalas. These fuzzy creatures stole my heart with their cute antics and gentle demeanour. It was an absolute delight to observe them in such proximity. Another standout feature of the Koala Centre was the daily keeper talk session. A knowledgeable koala keeper introduced us to these marsupials, sharing fascinating insights about their behaviour, habitat, and the efforts being made to protect them. This session added a layer of understanding and appreciation for these iconic Australian animals. For families with curious kids, the Daisy Hill Koala Centre is a treasure trove of educational materials. The centre houses an impressive collection of resources, including informative displays, interactive exhibits, and engaging presentations. It's the perfect destination for an educational day out with the family. In conclusion, my visit to the Daisy Hill Koala Centre was both entertaining and enlightening. I left with a deeper appreciation for koalas and their conservation. And what’s the best? It’s totally free to visit. If you're in the area and have even a passing interest in these marsupials, I highly recommend paying a visit. It's an experience that will leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling – much like the koalas themselves!

Month of visit: October 2023 (+): - A must-visit place especially if you want to see some koalas for free! - Nice place to bring children to learn about koalas and see nature (big trees) etc. - Nice place for a picnic in the forest, chilling, hiking or biking. - Was surprised that the toilet was clean when I came. (-): - It is not public transportation friendly, if you go by bus you will still need to walk around 2km to get to the place. - Actually, there are only 3 koalas that we can see easily and the place for these koalas has been modified to make visitors easy to see them. - Please be quiet when you see the koala, yesterday i thought people maybe were too excited to see these cuties and are making quiet loud voices, and as a result, the koala awake from their sleep. Don’t make them become more stressed, please.

Very interesting place in the middle of a beautiful forest with wallabys around - it was very quiet and peaceful, they are educating a lot about the koalas and a very lovely wildlife scientist took her time (even it was near to the closing at 4pm and we've been the only guests) to tell us about why the 4 koalas are kept there (chlamydia, one was born in captivity and is not able to survive in the wildness) and how they are taking care of them. They don't let you touch the koalas (very good!) and they make sure it's quiet and the animals don't get stressed. Animals they take care of (after car accidents etc) are released back into the wild after recovery. Definitely a recommendation and thanks again to the nice lady that's been talking to us yesterday!
