Deviation Road is definitely my type of winery being boutique and with a focus on quality not quantity. We enjoyed a great couple of hours tasting wines and enjoying the food. Sitting outside under the tree on a beautiful sunny day is a great option. It’s stunning looking over the vines and gardens. You can taste wine from the vines that you can see. It was also perfect for our little cavoodle who loved the opportunity to sniff around. I recommend doing the wine flight. You get to taste 4 wines for $20. I enjoyed all of the wines in the flight plus the follow up glass of Mary’s Reserve Shiraz. The wine was complimented by a cheese and charcuterie board, bruschetta and superb Arancini balls. We had the pleasure of being served by one of the wine making team (Morgan) who was very informative and nice. You can whip in and taste the wines if you want but this place deserves more time. Make it a one stop trip and enjoy Adelaide Hills wine at its best. If you like also join the Sabre Club which also offers a discount on the food and drinks...

I was really looking forward to visiting Deviation Road, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. I chose the Supreme Sparkling tasting, which cost a steep $45 — and honestly, it just wasn't worth it. The sparkling wines were underwhelming, especially considering the premium price.

To make things worse, the last two sparkling wines were poured in such tiny amounts that you could barely take a proper sip. For $45, are you serious, guys??? That felt more like a tease than a tasting.

You’d be much better off buying a good bottle of Champagne and enjoying it at home. I genuinely wish I could get my money back — the value just wasn’t there. It’s a beautiful location, but the wine experience needs a serious rethink. I hope they reconsider their pricing structure to better reflect the quality and quantity offered.

P.s. thank you for the refund. I've changed my...

It was quiet when we arrived without a booking. We felt like we were an inconvenience to squeeze into the mostly empty establishment. Over priced tastings, were scant. I would have been happy to pay $35 for four tastings as described on the menu. The menu states it's equivalent to about one and a half glasses. I would have estimated half a glass total at best. There was more wine in one $10 glass of wine ordered by my partner. Poor service, no chit chat, banter or sympathy when the wind blew the wine chart spilling wine...

We stopped in for refreshments after walking in Mark Oliphant Conservation Reserve and enjoyed sharing some platters, aranchini balls, delightful bread, fresh olive oil and dukkah, followed by coffees. Everything was delicious, the welcome warm and friendly and our dogs were welcomed in the sheltered area on a wild weather day. We were also attended by Aggie the resident dog who was not keen for pats but very patient for little snacks (with permission)!

Reasonably good experience. Essentially a cellar door for Sparkling wines. This seems to be the specialty here. I did the flight and had some tasty cheese and bruschetta. There are other wines. But I feel the focus is on the style born out of the region of Champagne in my France. Looks like they can do wood oven pizza also, maybe reserved for events. Great gardens and location.. I enjoyed the education and took a few bottles home.

A visit to Deviation Road is always spectacular. The sparkling wines created by Kate Laurie are some of Australia’s best, and the gardens and grounds make you feel like you are world’s away while being so close to the city. The hospitality is super welcoming, and the team has a great knowledge of the wines, and the places to go and see in the region. Make a plan to go, just give yourself plenty of time as you won’t want to leave!
