Buckingham Reserve Playground — Attraction in Melbourne

The snakes are out early . This tiger was making its way up the hill from the river towards the BBQ area on Saturday 6th September. Myself and doggo came across it with a shock. It didnt run away, or turn around or flee , it just squashed it's head flat and was waiting to bite us. As we moved away it just continued its climb up towards the BBQ area. The snakes I see are rarely trying to get away so that old saying about snakes hiding when they hear us just isn't true. It's a nice park but I advise you to keep your eyes open and stick to the main playground/oval area. Don't go exploring the river area or let your pets in that area in spring/summer and keep away from the drug dealers in...

Buckingham Reserve – A Must-Visit Playground!

Such a fantastic local park! Buckingham Reserve has something for everyone, but the highlight is definitely the flying fox – fast, fun, and perfect for kids who love a bit of adventure. The playground equipment is modern, well-maintained, and caters to a variety of age groups.

The open green spaces, shady spots, and picnic areas make it great for a family day out. There's also plenty of seating and clean facilities, which is always a plus.

Drug dealers in the car park and dog poo everywhere from people not cleaning up after their dogs. The reserve is clean ( except dog poo) and the lawns etc are kept neat. The river runs around the reserve which is a nice walk but keep an eye out for snakes. There's BBQs to use if you want but there's usually many people using them on nice days so bring your own if you can.
