I recently had the pleasure of visiting Chesterfield Farm, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped onto the property, I was captivated by the charm and warmth that this farm exudes.
The first thing that struck me was the picturesque setting. Chesterfield Farm boasts sprawling green fields, charming barns, and a peaceful atmosphere that transports you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's the perfect escape for anyone looking to reconnect with nature and enjoy a tranquil day in the countryside.
The variety of activities available at Chesterfield Farm is impressive. Whether you're interested in petting adorable farm animals, taking a scenic hayride, or trying your hand at traditional farm chores, there's something for everyone. The staff is not only knowledgeable but also genuinely passionate about their work, creating an engaging and educational experience for visitors of all ages.
One highlight of my visit was the interactive demonstrations. From milking cows to shearing sheep, the hands-on activities allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of farm life. It's clear that Chesterfield Farm is committed to preserving agricultural traditions and sharing them with the community.
The on-site cafe is another gem at Chesterfield Farm. The farm-to-table concept ensures that the food is not only delicious but also sourced locally, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the overall experience. I highly recommend trying the fresh produce and homemade treats—they're a true delight for the taste buds.
The attention to detail and commitment to providing a top-notch visitor experience make Chesterfield Farm stand out. Whether you're visiting with family, friends, or even on your own, this charming farm offers a welcoming and memorable day out. I left Chesterfield Farm with a renewed appreciation for agriculture and a heart full of wonderful memories. I can't wait to return and explore more of what this fantastic farm has to offer. Read moreIt costs nothing to treat customers with common courtesy and respect. But if you don't, it will cost you in return business and negative reviews. In multiple interactions we were treated as a nuisance by people working here, and I could not work out why. Even when they made a mistake with our booking we were treated as if we'd done something wrong - we got one word of sorry and no remedy except to resolve things ourselves. In another example, at the end of the day I thought I'd return a partially used animal feed bag, to avoid waste. It was snatched out of my hand without a word and presented to the next customer, not even a casual word of thanks or even acknowledgement. I said "thanks, and you're welcome" to myself as I left.
Just a series of poor customer experiences and nothing done to make up for it. Looking online, there are better similar places to go.
Edit, updated stars to reflect we did enjoy part of the day, just following the signage and casually getting to see and feed the animals ourselves. Our issue was not with the farm set up or even the miscommunication between the front desk about when to arrive for events. The low score was purely because of several dismissive, cold and unhelpful interactions with people working there. The animals...
Read moreHaving visited Chesterville Farm this afternoon, I left feeling extremely upset after witnessing how the young calf was left alone in a small dark enclosure - it was visibly stressed and overwhelmed as the calf had to constantly encounter people with young children in its face one after another - they allowed people to go into the enclosure and corner the calf to “pet” it. There was a sign says three at a time but this was not adhered to and there were no staff in the petting area monitoring the welfare of the animals. At one point the calf let out a cry and I could only assume it was hungry as a young calf only a few months old needs to be fed milk every few hours. But instead there was only a tub of dirty water and stack of hay. If not hungry it was clearly overwhelmed. The dogs were in tiny cages with no bed to sleep on, a ridiculous sign saying don’t wake the dogs as they’re up all night but cage them in one of the noisiest petting rooms and you expect the dogs to rest in that kind of environment? Where’s the pet bedding if you genuinely care about the welfare of the dogs that look after your animals during the night? We naively visited hoping for a good experience but left feeling extremely sad that a calf and dogs were left in that kind of...
