Funfields has been, and likely will always be, my favourite waterpark/amusement park in Australia. I've visited Funfields roughly 4-5 times over the last 8 years, and I can confidently say that the staff, the management, and the overall experience has only improved. Firstly, tickets are reasonably priced, especially if you attempt to do as much as you can in one day. Food is decently priced, there are many vegetarian options, and most choices are ok, definitely sufficient for what it is. Wait times have always been the killer for me at many other amusement parks, Funfields however has always been quite good. Whilst I'd advise people to book after public holidays like Christmas or during "less-perfect" weather to boycott all queues, even during peak times I've found the wait times to be more than bearable, especially when you're with mates, and on most days, it is fairly easy to try out every major ride in the park. I've always been excited to come back after a few years to see what big things have happened over time. First was the opening of the gravity wave (awesome), then the heated wave pool (also awesome), then the supernova (even better), and finally; the "lazy lagoon" lazy river and the bumper cars. I can honestly say that each of these individual openings are sufficient reasons to revisit the park alone. I visited recently, right after Christmas, and besides the joy of having no lines, I'd like to make a point on the two newest additions. Firstly the lazy river. My only prior experience with a lazy river was up at Wet'n'Wild on the Gold Coast and it was dirty and overcrowded to say the least. After trying out Funfields' new, heated wave pool, I was honestly seriously impressed. It had only opened a few weeks earlier so I can't speak to its long term cleanliness, but if it's anything like the wave pool, it should stay crystal clear. The river was warm enough. It was a windy day so the slight headedness of the river broke the edge, and the currents that pushed you around were just the right level of strength. The only thing that could be improved is some additional foliage/greenery along the river itself. There are some nice palm trees etc, but the concrete riverbed is a bit plain. I was also a bit upset to see the go-karts be discontinued, despite being average. But the bumper cars exceeded my expectations tenfold. Never have I heard a bumper car operator say "bumping is encouraged," so sick of the "no bumping in the bumper cars," so this was a great change. The lighting was also awesome, and the cars themselves were the highest quality bumper cars I'd used. I've also been blessed with the opportunity to visit some of Australia's bigger theme parks up on the Gold Coast, and whilst they do have larger, more appealing attractions, the overall atmosphere in my experience, has fallen short of funfields every time. Rather than waiting 2-3 hours for a waterslide at Wet'n'Wild, I often find myself waiting only 5-25 minutes on most rides at Funfields. Whilst I'm not a local, I only hope the park continues to expand because as long as its core experience and care for its visitors is maintained, it has enormous potential. Very curious to see where and how they expand their site. I highly recommend visiting Funfields. Whilst I can't assure you that you'll have the same experience I have over the years, I know whatever you do during your time will bring you good fun. My overall message out of this long slab that I really want the park management to hear is this: "Thank you for creating an environment where anyone can have fun, and an environment that prioritises its guests' experiences over financial gain. Please never lose the local feeling which makes Funfields unique, and continue improving." Thanks for reading 😁 Value: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Food: ⭐⭐⭐ Rides: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Guest Experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Overall: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the experience my friends and I had at Funfields last Sunday, 19th January. What we hoped would be a day filled with joy and fun turned into one of the most humiliating and frustrating experiences we’ve ever had. After spending over $450 (more than $110 per person, including an additional $40 each), we expected a pleasant and memorable outing. Instead, we were met with rudeness, humiliation, and disrespect from one of your staff members, which left us emotionally hurt and disheartened. I understand that rides come with rules and regulations, and I fully respect the importance of adhering to them. However, no staff member has the right to treat anyone rudely, let alone humiliate paying customers repeatedly.

Here’s what happened on trying to get on to one of the rides.(unfortunately we started from that ride Voodoo) Upon entering, we patiently waited in the queue, even after paying the extra amount for priority access. When it was finally our turn, a staff member rudely approached us and said we couldn’t take the ride because we were not dry enough. There were no signs or prior warnings about the requirement to be completely dry. We complied and left to dry ourselves. Thirty minutes later, we returned, only to be humiliated again. Despite being checked and allowed onto the ride by another staff member, this same individual returned and publicly yelled at us, saying we were still not allowed. This happened in front of a large crowd, and we were mortified. After further drying ourselves, we came back for a third time. This time, we were thoroughly inspected by another staff member, who allowed us to sit on the ride. However, just as we were seated, this same staff member returned, singled us out, and arrogantly demanded that we leave, saying we were still wet. By this point, we were completely dry, and his accusations were unfounded. We finally managed to take the ride only after changing into an entirely fresh set of clothes and ensuring this staff member wasn’t present. Unfortunately, the damage was already done. The repeated humiliation and disrespect we endured completely ruined our experience, and I couldn’t enjoy any rides afterward. What truly broke me was when we encountered him again at another ride. In front of a queue of over 30 people, he pointed at me with his finger in an unprofessional and condescending manner, loudly declaring that I wouldn’t be allowed because I was wearing a sleeveless top. Again, I fully understand that rules exist, but the way this individual behaved—with his dismissive tone, mocking expressions, and lack of basic courtesy—was unacceptable. By the end of the day, I felt deeply disrespected and regretted spending $450 on what should have been a fun outing. Instead of creating happy memories, I left feeling humiliated, emotionally drained, and frustrated.

I am bringing this to your attention because no guest should ever have to endure such treatment. I strongly urge you to address this staff member’s behavior and ensure better training for your team in handling customers with respect and professionalism.

I hope to hear back from you soon with an acknowledgment of this complaint and the steps being taken to ensure no one else experiences...

Today’s experience was absolutely shocking and outrageous. I lead a disability group to fun fields in hope of a fun filled day as we have been coming here for years and have had no issues in the past. However we encountered some very discriminative behaviours from workers and the fun fields team. As of from today a new rule has been put in place that doesn’t allow anyone with special needs that has a red wristband to go on the toboggans or to steer the go karts. This news came as very shocking as I was told at the entry desk that these wrist bands WERE NOT restrictive in anyway. For then to be told at the ride that the participants can not go on the ride is so disheartening to see and incredibly sad and frustrating for the participant itself who has had the expectation that he/she is allowed to go on any ride. This lead to an incident where the participant with additional needs who also had a companion with them, physically and emotionally got very upset. There was no compassion or understanding from the workers and the way they spoke and raised their voices saying “No” whilst the participant was upset did not help the situation at all! As a carer for the participants we had full confidence that they were capable of doing this ride, as they have done many times previously at fun fields with no issue at all. This rule not only discriminates one’s ability of being able to do the ride but also creates a divide between people who have and people who don’t have disabilities. Just because someone has a disability it does not mean they cannot independently do the ride solo. A companion doesn’t mean the other person has to have a physical disability like a wheelchair. We have a lot of participants with intellectual disabilities who have support for their social and mental wellbeing.

Additional actions have been made from workers including them denying a participants to go on the water squirt boats due to them stimming and thinking he is incapable of controlling the boat which they said they don’t think he can do it. Once again they don’t know him and his carer does which they vouch for him. If it couldn’t get any worse comments such as “do you have a disability” “you don’t look like you have a disability” have been made by workers which honestly make me sick to my stomach. You don’t ask questions like that and no one is required to answer those questions.

I recommend for any person with additional needs or a disability organisation to consider if they want to use their companion card as that determines if you get given a different wristband that restricts you. But to also consider if fun fields can offer you an inclusive and fun experience and environment with these rules...
