Worth every moment to be there and enjoy the scenic view of the waterfalls, provided you don't have to use the toilets out there.
It could have been ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ as BBQ setup is amazing and there are few concrete sheds which is worth it in rains (provided you don't have a lot of big groups cranking up 🎵🎶).
Can I remind Parks Victoria or any of their concerned departments to please clean and maintain cleaning hygiene standards suitable to mankind. On 30/12/23 at around 1pm till 3pm, female toilet were in the worst condition. This is one of the worst case scenarios when any person is made to feel at utmost unease while using toilet 🚽 which was fully clogged 🪠 (partial blame to the users too)
Having said that wash basins didn't have water coming from taps, stench was worse than ammonia. Please do something about it as you don't want people to feel suffocated while using the toilets out there .
I hope the person reading this review will try to understand the actual...
Read moreI've been here twice and completed the 16km hike to Mt Sugarloaf. Mason falls picnic area has good toilet facilities, picnic benches, tables and about 20-30 car spaces. The picnic area has a peaceful and relaxing environment. The hike to Mason falls from the car park is about 10 minutes away and has a nice view. The 8km hike to Mount Sugarloaf is a good adventure, keeping in mind there is an uphill area (To the top: This will take 1.5-2.5 hours depending on fitness level). When you reach the top your find yourself in a car park with not much view of the surrounding mountains. There is a gap in between the trees where you can see the city and that's nice. You will find nicer views on your last 800m towards Mt Sugarloaf. The 8km hike back from Mt Sugarloaf is fun. it's mainly downhill. The times it took to complete: 1st time was 3.5 hours of walking. Second time was 4.5 hours. This depends on your groups fitness level. But a great...
Read moreThe roads owned by Murrindindi Shire Council are horrendous. They’re falling to pieces. Warning people to be careful, the last road before the picnic ground (Masons Falls Road) is full of potholes towards the edge of the road where it’s crumbling away. I hit one yesterday that was hiding in the shadows of the trees. Only going 40km/h and it still gave me a flat tyre and buckled the alloy wheel of my pristine condition 2 year old car. $1000 for a new wheel and tyre later and the council won’t have to pay a dime because it’s under the ridiculous $1580 threshold written into the Victorian Road Management Act 2004. I couldn’t pull over to take a photo as it’s a narrow two way road with no shoulder but have a look on Google Maps and you’ll see. There were several that could have done it but I think it was this crater. Note that the image is from 6 months ago… and many of them have markings for repair, yet here we still...
