This is a nice and convenient park to meet up with people and bring dogs. You can a take a walk, have a picnic or a barbecue, while your dogs enjoy off-leash time. Amenities include heaps of parking, a serviceable public toilet, drinking fountains for people and pooches, a barbecue, several picnic tables, and a dog playground area. There is lots of grass and shade under the pine trees. It’s close to Jells Park and you get some nice views towards Glen Waverley and Mulgrave.
A few slight cons: the facilities are a bit tired, (but nothing appears to be broken); no undercover area (so no shelter from rain); no rubbish bins - signs clearly ask you to take your rubbish home. Unfortunately lots of people seem to think this does not apply to them. Make sure you take your doggy-doo/rubbish bags in and out! And BYO coffee etc - there is no cafe within walking distance.
NB This park caters for people with fur-babies, not so much for human ones. Older kids who are confident and well-behaved around dogs will be fine. Just keep in mind that there is no children’s play equipment and there are always dogs of all sizes...
Read moreA popular exercise park for people and dogs. There was sufficient parking when I was there after 4pm on Sunday.
The park could do with more park benches and table-bench seats. You could also bring your own tables and chairs and rugs for a picnic as there is ample space on the ground under huge old trees.
Toilet needs some work but at least there is a toilet. The BBQ area was closed off when I was there.
There are walking trails that lead to Jells Park according to the map but upon investigation looked like a narrow natural trail through a forest - I would only do this in company of others or my dog - it looked rather deserted and I didn't feel safe attempting this on my own.
There is a dog activity area with signs pointing to it. There were also barriers that look like challenges for dogs. There were doggie water bowls at the...
Read morePlenty of space and a beautiful peaceful place to sit. There were picnic tables in the shade and toilets. I found it difficult to access as someone using public transport as I had to walk on the road a lot (due to lack of footpath and overgrown grass between the bus stop and the park), however there is plenty of car parks if you were to drive. It is a dog off leash area, which means very different things depending on your comfort level around dogs. There were paths I didn't explore in this visit as I wanted to stick to the shade and didn't see much from my vantage point, so I can't say much on those. There were grass mowers while I was there but I found my headphones blocked them out enough. All and all, a great park and I would recommend for anyone wanting somewhere to escape the business and crowded feeling of the roads...
