My visit to the Rocky Creek Strawberry Farm left me with an unforgettable experience and a newfound appreciation for the delectable fruit. This review aims to highlight the farm's exceptional strawberries, family-friendly atmosphere, and the delightful array of products available, including jams, chocolates, soaps, wines, and ice creams.
Let's start with the stars of the show—the strawberries. Without a doubt, these were the best strawberries I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Plump, juicy, and bursting with flavor, each bite was a delightful explosion of sweetness. The strawberries at Rocky Creek are incredibly fresh, and the fact that you can eat as many as you like is a dream come true for strawberry lovers. It was a true joy to pick my own strawberries straight from the fields, savoring the experience of connecting with nature while indulging in nature's candy.
Rocky Creek Strawberry Farm goes beyond simply offering a pick-your-own experience. It is also a fantastic destination for families and children. The farm provides a wonderful atmosphere for spending quality time together. The serene and picturesque surroundings make it a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Kids, in particular, will be delighted with the opportunity to roam the fields, picking strawberries and learning about the farming process. It's a fantastic educational and interactive experience that fosters a love for fresh produce.
In addition to the strawberry-picking adventure, the farm offers an impressive range of products made from their own strawberries. From jams and chocolates to soaps, wines, and ice creams, there is something for everyone. The jams are rich in flavor, capturing the essence of the freshly picked strawberries. The chocolates are a delightful indulgence, blending the sweetness of strawberries with the richness of chocolate. The soaps, made with natural ingredients, provide a unique and refreshing experience. And of course, the ice creams are a must-try. I had the pleasure of sampling the strawberry cream and passion fruit flavors, both of which were incredibly creamy and delicious. The ice creams are a perfect way to cool down on a warm day while enjoying the pure essence of strawberries.
Overall, my visit to Rocky Creek Strawberry Farm was a true delight. The impeccable quality of the strawberries, the family-friendly environment, and the wide variety of strawberry-based products make it a must-visit destination. Whether you're looking to enjoy a fun-filled day with your loved ones, indulge in the freshest strawberries imaginable, or discover unique strawberry-infused products, this farm has it all. I highly recommend a visit to Rocky Creek Strawberry Farm for an experience that will leave you with a taste of perfection and...
Read moreWe had been frequent visitors of Rocky Creek under its former name, Sunnyridge, for years, and had always enjoyed the experience. Today was different. We visited with 4 adults and 2 children, paying $54 for a family pass (2 adults + 2 children) and 2 extra adults. This gave us 4 x large boxes (500g) and 2 x small boxes (250g). We distributed the boxes and set off for the strawberry lines where we split up and started picking. My youngest and I had swapped boxes so he could pick more. I was at the top of one of the rows with a nearing full 250g box and three medium strawberries in the open lid. Knowing my eight year old would have room, I kept these for his box. I was then aware of a male in a Ute driving past and yelling "excuse me" with an agressive tone from the window. Realising he was talking to me, I looked up, where he shouted quite nastily that that lids needed to close on the boxes. Startled, I said they were for my sons box. Unlike almost everyone else there who takes the opportunity to eat their weight in berries while picking, I had not eaten a single strawberry along the way. We left without all our boxes being completely full. I felt quite anxious about the experience. I hadn't done anything wrong and was aggressively spoken to when he had no context of the broader group I was with. Whilst the venue has extended its "Upick" range from its Sunnyridge heyday, we found the produce we did pick lacked the beautiful flavour they used to have. Sunnyridge strawberries always tasted amazing, but they were bland, not particularly sweet and watery. It's a shame we had the experience we did, unless of course it's now operated by the "Karen's Diner" team and is part of the planned customer journey. I'm not sure we will return, which is sad as it's previously provided...
Read moreMy friend told me about a $50 family pass for picking mixed berries, so I decided to visit the farm with my family of four the next day. When I asked for the $50 ticket, a young, tall staff in the cashier asked me to pay $60. Surprised, I mentioned that my friend only paid $50 for the same pass and asked why it was more expensive. He explained that his boss had instructed him to charge that amount.
Feeling dissatisfied with the inconsistency, I decided not to purchase the ticket immediately. While I was deliberating, I noticed a family of four leaving the farm after picking berries. They confirmed they had only paid $50 for their ticket. This raised my suspicion that the tall staff member might have been trying to overcharge me.
I then purchased the ticket from a different staff member at another cashier for $50. However, the experience left a sour taste in my mouth. If this staff member was indeed pocketing the extra $10, he could be doing the same to other families who come here to enjoy themselves. Such dishonest actions could damage the farm’s reputation.
As for the produce, the strawberries were large and exceptionally sweet. Unfortunately, the cherry section was bare, and the blackberries and blueberries were very sour. While the farm has potential, they need to monitor their staff more closely to ensure fairness and protect...
