This spot is a great place to catch a glimpse of the dam. The entire area is lush with greenery, and the best temperature to fully enjoy the view is around 10-15°C. It's not the best idea to visit during scorching heat or extremely cold weather. A good time to go is while you're headed to the Dandenong Ranges. Going early in the morning is smart to dodge the hot sun on sunny days. Make sure to download the area map beforehand, as the network can be a bit spotty. My partner had our dog on a leash, but our dog pulled on the lead as he started going down a slop. My partner ended up slipping and losing his balance going downhill and taking a ride on the dog backwards as he fell. He also ran into another man walking his dog at the bottom of the slop. Grass is always mowed and well kept. Further down the road you can access a car park at the bottom of the park area with a covered area and BBQ. No views from down here though but a quieter spot.
