Was turned off before even ordering a meal. Introduced ourselves at the counter where the lady behind it pointed out a table in the distance saying 'that's your table'. Didn't lead us to the table like any other wait staff would. The waitress then placed two of the oldest, dirtiest looking drinking glasses on the table and then placed a water bottle that had cloudy water and what looked like green algae inside. I suggested to the waitress that it wasn't a great introduction to the place to be greeted with such dirty looking glasses and water; after all, it's not a huge outlay to buy new glasses is it? She too agreed that the glasses were not good. I could see that all of the other glasses on other peoples tables were similarly poor. With this, she removed the glasses and replaced them with paper cups. You've got to be kidding me. Paper cups? Even the menus were old and had the original prices liquid papered over and new prices written over in pen. I mean, really?? Long story short, they couldn't easily work with gluten free options and were less than accommodating in menu choices. The prices were not cheap and certainly not worthy of the poor service provided and lazy attitudes. We walked out. I won't give our money to those undeserving of it. Funnily enough, we went just a little further up the road to another place that had exactly the same water glasses. Their glasses were crystal clear and the water bottles perfect. Needless to say, our $100 went...

Nice location but won't be coming back. The staff were a bit hopeless, got my order wrong which normally doesn't phase me cuz it happens but they brought food out that i didnt order and never came back to fix it. After everyone in my party finiahed their meals I went back to the counter to just get a refund for a meal I never recieved. Could barely understand the cashier because they spoke so softly but I asked for a refund and thought thats what was happening. When I go back to our table the correct meal suddenly appears which was confusing and when I questioned the stagfer he was clueless so I thouhht ok maybe they ended up fixing it right when I got my refund and this was to make up for the unpleasant experience. Im not sure since I try not to make waves at restaurants cuz I know its a hard gig. But when I double checked my bank account I realized that it wasnt a refund they gave it was apparently me paying the difference for the correct meal i had originally ordered! SMH Need to train your staff better, the food was average but the experience was terrible and its defiantly put me off from visiting again...

Visited this place for the first time and unfortunately, it did not live up to the reviews. The breakfast we ordered was pretty standard fare and not terrible but also not worth the price. My husband said the coffee was good but my tea was as good as a teabag can be in a pot with too much water. My milk also came out in a dirty jug, so I had to get that changed over. My son ordered a wet chai...pouring hot water into chai powder does not make it a 'wet chai'.

In addition to this, there were a lot of flies, I ended up not finishing my tea because a fly landed on the cup and crawled all around the inside. When we were eating, we were constantly shooing flies away, which is fine, if you are sitting out the back, having a bbq, which we were not. It wouldn't hurt to give the place a clean either, dust and cobwebs everywhere. I read that this place had been closed for a break for a couple of weeks and only just opened, probably should have given it a once over.

Won't...

A group of us decided to come here for lunch after a 12 km hike from Olinda. I was sceptical about the quality because Google reviews have been mixed. With an open mind, we decided to check out the place. I ordered the Tasmanian salmon salad, which was fresh and delicious. The mint leaves and capers definitely added different dimensions to the taste. My friends had the steak sandwich, Thai chicken salad, and haloumi salad, and all praised the taste. In an adjacent table, I saw a family order the crispy chicken burger, and it looked delicious. Even though the venue is run by Asians, I think they have brought Australian and Asian inspired fusion cuisine to a high standard. The lady boss is very nice to our group and she is so friendly. Just a note that the service may be slower than usual if the place is crowded. I am definitely coming back!

I was initially skeptical about the rating, assuming that it might be inflated because of the rose coloured glasses of tourists in the area. But let me tell you, this cafe is absolutely punching well above its weight. The poached eggs were done to perfection, the hollandaise was perfectly balanced, and the little drizzle of balsamic and pesto around the edge of the plate made for a wonderful unexpected flavour. The service was quite efficient, although it was quite early in the day, so there weren’t many people around. The view was lovely to witness while sipping on my morning coffee. We also had a cheeky lemon meringue to go, which was excellent. All in all, I highly rate this place, I would definitely come back, and I would definitely tell my friends.

If you are visiting the Dandenongs, you cannot go wrong parking in the Kalorama lookout, enjoy the view and then walk across the road to Destiny Point cafe. The staff are lovely, the service is very brisk, the menu is amazing, with several Vegan options, and the building interior is furnished with some amazing antique Oriental museum pieces and paraphernalia, while out the back there is a delightful bonsai collection that is definitely worth an inspection, even if only on the way to the bathroom. I came with some overseas visitors for lunch and we all left with a very good impression. Will definitely come back again for more.
