Five of us came to TarraWarra Museum of Art on a Wednesday. If you happen to be in the area or visiting the TarraWarra Estate Restaurant & Cellar Door for a winery experience, it is worth checking out the museum too. As they have been described, they definitely do ‘foster a passionate engagement with art within a relaxing environment’. The exhibition we saw on display was called ‘Looking Glass’, which incorporates and combines the elemental forces of earth, water, fire and air. My favourite display was the cloud chamber installation view, made up of several hand-blown glass ornaments hanging from the ceiling (they were shaped like little jalapeños). Every art piece always has a powerful story, and reading about the stories provided us with more insight into the context of the art. Thank you to the TarraWarra Museum, the staff, art creators, and all involved. Keep up...

TarraWarra Museum of Art – An Inspiring and Thoughtful Visit

Visiting the TarraWarra Museum of Art was an absolute pleasure. As someone who enjoys museums, I found the space both inspiring and serene, with thoughtfully curated exhibitions that invite reflection and curiosity. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience, and the guided tour provided valuable insights into the collection.

The museum also offers a lovely café area, perfect for enjoying a coffee after exploring the galleries, making it an ideal place to relax and continue the conversation about art.

This visit reminded me that a well-designed museum experience combines exceptional curation, attentive service, and thoughtful amenities, creating a space where art and reflection...

Beautiful grounds, the art gallery was very impressive and I'm not a real art person. I wanted to give a 5 star, but had a bad experience with one of the staff.

My partner had a little trip on the kick boards near the art (we saw others do this too) and an older woman who was walking the floor was awfully rude to us. She accused my partner of touching the art, rather than seeing if she was ok. She did touch the wall, but not the art. She wouldn't let it go and always wanted to have the last word. Things nearly escalated when I asked her to just move and and she tried to tell us off again. I just walked straight out of the gallery. So sad. She's a menace and...

Came here for the Archibald exhibition 2019. It was a big pull for the area and the museum was a great setting to display the art. Just a short drive (5 mins) from Healesville Town. The muesem is a modern space with restaurant. Entry was $16 for adult and concessions a bit cheaper. The display and lighting was good and the acoustics of the halls worked well. We saw some great art and some not so great art 😉, I guess that's the beauty. The gallery has a little gift shop at the end. The lawns and pond are well looked after. Overall we spent about 1 hour looking at all the pieces in the 4 large rooms.

Very nice museum to visit. It has a beautiful lake. As the museum is on a hill, you get a good view of the of the lake and hills. This is not a big museum but it's got some interesting work of arts to appreciate. There is also a shop where you can buy some of the art pieces. We were there half an hour before closing at 5 pm. As we came out and walk around, the sun was about to set. We were happy to see a beautiful sunset with the lake, hills and trees in the background. So if you are here, its definely worth staying for the sunset.
