Tirhatuan Park Review
Tirhatuan Park is a hidden gem that offers a perfect escape into nature, located in the heart of Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. The park features beautifully maintained walking trails that wind through lush greenery, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers and casual walkers alike.
One of the standout features of Tirhatuan Park is the serene lake, which not only enhances the picturesque views but also provides a tranquil environment for birdwatching. The park is home to various bird species, adding to its charm and making it a delightful place for photographers.
The facilities are excellent, with ample picnic areas and playgrounds for families. The well-maintained amenities make it easy to spend a whole day here, whether you're looking to enjoy a leisurely picnic, engage in some light exercise, or simply relax with a good book by the water.
Additionally, the park is dog-friendly, allowing furry friends to join in on the fun. The open spaces provide plenty of room for dogs to roam, making it a great spot for pet owners.
Overall, Tirhatuan Park is a lovely destination that combines natural beauty with recreational facilities. Whether you’re seeking a peaceful retreat or an active day out with friends and family, this park is definitely...
Read moreGreat for some exercise and getting the kids out in some fresh air. The park is very well maintained and very clean. People should note that this isn't like other wetland reserves. It only has the one toilet at one end at the car park. So if you are intending on walking the entire track and your have young kids or elderly it's best to go before you arrive or at the start of your walk.
It has two dog parks the likes of I have never seen. There is a smaller one for small breeds and an gigantic one for all dogs. Both are completely fenced in with a good gate.
There is also a pretty good playground for the kids. Just be aware that it gets busy on nice days and the car park is limited in size.
The only warning I would give is to obviously don't use the park at night. There is zero lighting here on the track or reserve. And as it has fully unrestricted access from multiple locations safety may be a concern. Otherwise I highly...
Read moreA fantastic park nestled within suburbia that has lots of play equipment, gorgeous lakes (complete with diverse waterbirds), and a large amount of free, open space. Plenty of paths snake between the trees, open fields, and play area.
There's also a large, enclosed area designated for dogs - complete with water facilities, lots of trees, and several benches.
Parking is adequate, and it's a short walk from many other areas that have lots of parking, so it's never difficult to get to.
Numerous benches, seats, and bins populate the main area, as well as restrooms, sheltered gazebos, and free-to-use barbeques.
Only downside is the relative few water taps, none of which are near the main area. Ensure you bring your own water.
Overall, a very enjoyable place that you'll often find many families taking...
