Pizza Strada & Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

Pizza Strada and Bar is an exceptional woodfired pizza restaurant. The South Eastern suburbs finally have an amazing pizza restaurant easily comparable with Lygon St and other inner-Melbourne pizzerias. I've dined in and had takeaway, the taste, texture and quality is fantastic with both options.

What differentiates this place compared to others is the passion the staff put into every pizza. I was fortunate enough to talk to the owner, Daniel, on a slightly quieter night. Every bit of pizza craftsmanship has meticulously been thought of - the preparation of the dough, the freshness and sourcing of ingredients, the physics of cooking the pizzas with temperature and wood types. This all leads to a perfect composition of texture (I normally am strict about calories and carbs - this place was so good I ate the crust). Daniel and the staff's passion is endearing to see and hear. They're also super friendly and happy to chat about the restaurant's origins.

Pizza Strada and Bar.. what else to say besides whilst i was eating my pizza i was taken back to my young days as a little boy in Sicily the way my mumma would make pizza. this is as authentic as you can get, just as authentic as the fish shop next door that teased my authentic accent and stutter. I only moved to Australia a few years ago after hearing about how beautiful and safe this country is, however, my first night moving in, i felt like an aussie meal so i went to the fish and chip shop on outlook drive there, it was oily and such bad and rude service i thought.. oh gee was i lied to coming into this country and all the tests i had to sit for my PR?! luckily enough i wear my heart on my sleeve, grabbed my things, paid for the oily "fish" and proceeded outside to use it as a speed hump instead. i then caught the glimpse of my new love, no not my thai mail order bride, but Pizza Strada which i now frequent weekly. Made an order through the food delivery app Doordash that went horribly wrong due to the app’s incompetence and communication issues. I called the restaurant directly to ask about my order and the woman on the phone said the order had been ready for 45 minutes waiting for the doordash delivery person to pick it up. By this time I had been waiting for about an hour and a half. The support person for doordash then cancelled my order without notifying me. The lady at the restaurant offered to personally deliver it and not only did she deliver it, two more FRESH pizzas of the same order were delivered. So four pizzas instead of the original two. The lady said the first two pizzas were not up to their standard (because of waiting time) so they made two more for us. Thank you Pizza Strada & Bar for going above and beyond. Your pizzas are absolutely delicious and we will definitely be ordering many more times...
