Between Short Point and Bar Beach and at the car park at Middle Beach, the walk down to the beach is composed of dirt track numerous wooden ramps and a challenging 185 steps to the bottom plus landings. It's not a well known or used location because it's not a publicized tourist destination. There's a headland both ends of the beach and affected by North Easterlies, right round to South Easterlies. Otherwise it should be protected from other wind directions. You swim at your own risk as there are no Life Savers and having immediate health support is awkward. Never the less, the crowds, kids and noise are mostly absent. Remember the walk back to the top, make sure you keep enough energy to climb thoughs stairs.
