As a local I really enjoy going to the duck ponds even if it's just 20 minutes. The council do a good job at keeping the park maintained but the entrance road definitely needs to be resealed. My biggest complaint is not about the park but people (tourist's especially). There are signs up all around the park yet people still feel it is okay to feed the ducks and other birds when the signs clearly say not to. Someone was trying to feed the black swans cheezels the other day, that's just stupid. And to those people who like to let their dogs poo on the paths, and the grassed areas and think they're too important to pick up after them, well you're not. Net person I see not picking up after their dogs I will take your photos and publish it on social media. Same goes for those just too lazy to put their dog poo bags in the bins. It's just common courtesy to do the right thing, people shouldn't have to be stepping in dogpoo because you think you shouldn't have to. And to the caravaners who pull into the parking bay, just remember it's not a caravan park its a car park. And to the lady in the motorhome the other day that tried to whack the little girl in the head for riding her bike, I hope the girls parents say you do that and said something. Disgraceful behavior, little girl was having a wonderful time and you just tried to force her off the path. Overall the park is fantastic and a nice place to...

We visited Lake Alford yesterday and the amount of life in one park was unbelievable. Soo many different breeds of healthy birds were scattered amongst the lush green grass and trees. In the water you would see plenty of turtles popping their heads up in the lake full of vibrant green algae.
There is plenty of resting areas for a peaceful picnic and two different playgrounds to watch the kids play. A big fenced dog park is also located on the grounds with heaps of parking around the park.
For those who are travelling a long distance, this is definately a pleasent park to stop and rest during...
Read moreEnjoyed an evening walk in the park and around Lake Alford after an early dinner and a hot day. The park is on the southern edge of Gympie, as you drive through on the M1. Plenty of parking and the walking tracks are wide enough for two, bridges over the lake and clean toilets for public use. The lake boasts beautiful fountains and plenty of bird life, it is a great place for taking photo's, also a popular place for walking dogs. The park has a children's playground, drinking fountains and seating, scattered around the park. A place worth pulling into for a rest during a long drive that, has...
