Mount Buffalo is one of my favourite places in Australia. Yes, I have seen a little bit of it, and I stand by my statement.

I think that Mount Buffalo is too underrated and could be used so much more. I have memories or going here during winter and tobogganing to each year enjoying the many many walks and waterfalls that are spotted around the mountain.

I find it a shame that the chalet is not meeting its potential and is laying dormant. She is a jewel on the crown of Mount Buffalo.

There are many great walks for all ages to enjoy. There is Lake Cantani, where you can camp by booking online. There are toilets along the way, mainly on the bottom at the entrance, the cathedral, the chalet, and the horn.

It's a road used by both cars and cyclists, so do be wary of the cyclist.

Mount Buffalo has a diverse landscape and flora, going from bush to tall trees carpeted on the ground with ferns, giving it that tropical look to the snow gums above that are short and stocky. There is so much scarring from the 2001 fires that ravage Mount Buffalo and that scarring is visible for miles on a clear day from many of the walks, especially the horn. This is a park that has been enjoyed many people for decades. There is planned investments and infrastructure that the government is going to do, so it will have a greater future for people to love and enjoy the park even more.

So pack a picnic, swimmers, hiking boots, drink bottles and hats, and spend a day enjoying an awesome place with friends, lovers,...

We started off at dingos dell. Not had proper snow fall for a few days and lots of visitors but it is free and it's not bad. The cafe wasn't open during our visit but toilets with baby change room and heated cafe area to eat your picnic made it great for families with small children. The toboggan slope was well used. We also enjoyed a short hike to the sentinel which was beautiful because the snow was less disturbed and more fresh. Some areas the snow was very deep so make sure you have the right footwear/ski trousers etc. I think the walk was meant to be to the summit but the walk did end at the sentinel so it's shorter than the advertised 1.5 hours return on the markers. We continued to Cresta where the kids tobogganed some more. Fewer visitors here so the snow was a bit better than dingo dell. Steeper and wider slope as we saw snowboarders enjoying the space with those tobogganing. Toilets at the walk and Cresta. I didn't use them so no idea what...

Mount Buffalo National Park is an awesome place. It has everything from a lake, to waterfalls, to stunning views, and more! Just be prepared to undertake a long winding drive to get up there.

We were lucky to go on a beautiful day, low 30s and sunny. We drove to the very top to start and took a lap around Lake Catani, which was quite a diverse trek. We then hiked over to the View Point Lookout (this was a bit strenuous, lots of uphill climbing) and then to Mt Buffalo Lookout. Both stunning lookouts, we were lucky to have a really clear day as well.

We then drove down to both Eurobin and Rollasons Falls. Both require a bit aof a walk from the car but are well worth it, nothing better than jumping in the water after a hike.

In terms of animals we saw little fish, frogs, and of course a multitude of birds.

Would highly recommend checking out Mt Buffalo if you are...
