There are many viewing points from which to admire this stunning blue lake. If time does not allow for a walk around the lake, drive the road that encircles the lake and stop at the lookouts. It is worth seeing the lake from different sides, especially if the sun is shining, as this affects the blueness! The best view is from Rook Wall Lookout. There is not a lot of parking. From here, there is an underpass to a lower lookout. Or there are stairs up to a wooden sheltered lookout. If you are feeling extra fit, there are steps up to a higher lookout, although the view doesn't really justify the climb. There are informative displays at some lookouts. Interesting to read about the formation and current use of the lake. This is a must-see when...

Beautiful crater lake with a very nice easy walk around it. Only blue at certain times of the year, and bluer when the sun is out. Look to the edges for an even bluer tinge, which they claim the entire lake changes to this blue, but I have my doubts. Multiple viewpoints when walking around the lake, or from the many lookouts in Mount Gambier. The Aquifer tour is also worth doing.

What a cool place to visit and it is free!

There was adequate parking provided and an easy walk to viewing platforms.

Definitely recommend.

Natural wonder. Well worth the detour to Mount Gambier. You should also visit the Valley Lake next door to serve as a contrast. Also visit the Conservation centre...

Awesome place to visit and to take that perfect picture for your, phone, tablet or computer screensaver. But if you have the real cameras even better, Just magical. Lots of look out points & history boards at each stop about the lakes history. We went there on a weekday and the main information Centre there was closed. The sign on the door stated that it was only open on weekends. So if you wanted more as in souvenirs etc. you will need to visit on a weekend. Lots of walking tracks & picnic areas for lunch or for the kids to play safely. 3 stars due to the parks information Centre...

People often say that pictures don’t do a natural wonder justice, and in this case, I must agree. The blue colour of the lake is absolutely stunning and it’s an attraction well worth seeing. If the weather is nice, I highly recommend the one hour walk around the lake. There’s not better way to take in all the different angles of the lake! However, you can also drive around the lake if you’d prefer. If you’re passing through Mount Gambier, make sure to stop off. If you’re passing close by, it might be worth taking some time out of your day to visit anyway!
