This garden is unique because its 30,000 squared metres are shaped to provide a park that could be yours, if you lived there with your family. And actually a family has lived there for several decades and I think still does, although the lady owner passed away a few months ago. I met her a few years ago, and she told us of how her husband bought the property for her, an already established garden which they transformed, with so much work, in the beauty it is today. Entry is $10 per person and you can bring a picnic, but not your dog. Many tables and chairs here and there, and here and there is just where you should roam around, discovering little hidden spots, beautiful perspectives, and so many colours during different seasons. There are also a few toilets but not a covered area to use in case of rain, although a light rain can be avoided enough under some of the large trees. It is not open all year round, so check the website. Usually Autumn and Spring, but who know what's going to happen in the near future... Better go there when it's...

There was an abundance of European Wasps that would swarm you if you had any food or drink out. We counted 6 trying to land on our sandwiches. This made having a picnic impossible, especially as European Wasps can be very aggressive if they decide they want to sting, and they can sting repeatedly! This could pose a big problem if any children or adults are allergic. The owners should really put more effort in to destroying them and finding the nest. As we were there with baby we had to leave all our food a long ways from the actual picnic...
In the end we just packed everything up and wandered for a little while, pity we couldn't relax on our rug like you should be able to at a park that charges ten dollars an...
Read moreNice destination for a day trip only 50mins drive. Nice place for a picnic or to take kids. However really not worth $10 per person, as there wasn't even real toilets there only x2 portaloos. Nothing much there to offer other than the nice garden and two small nice lakes. No parking (just off st on road if you lucky) not even small shop or cafe, so you really must go fully packed/prepared. Also when I asked for map or info on the gardens I got even a sheet in chinese language which was super odd as I was speaking english and I'm not asian. So whilst good to checkout at least once, don't feel it's the kind of place that you will go to more than once or twice ever as far too expensive for what it...
