Nice view and nice track.

Mount Panorama Circuit is a motor racing track located in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. It is situated on a hill with the dual official names of Mount Panorama and Wahluu and is best known as the home of the Bathurst 1000 motor race held each October, and the Bathurst 12 Hour event held each February. The track is 6.213 km (4 mi) in length, and is technically a street circuit, and is a public road, with normal speed restrictions when no racing events are being run, and there are many residences which can only be accessed from the circuit.

The track has an unusual design by modern standards, with a 174-metre (571 ft) vertical difference between its highest and lowest points, and grades as steep as 1:6.13. From the start-finish line, the track can be viewed in three sections; the short pit straight and then a tight left turn into the long, steep Mountain straight; the tight, narrow section across the top of the mountain itself; and then the long, downhill section of Conrod Straight, with the very fast Chase and the turn back onto pit straight to complete the lap.

Historically, the racetrack has been used for a wide variety of racing categories, including everything from open-wheel racers to motorcycles. However, the factors that make the track so unusual, and tighter modern safety standards, make it unlikely that major race meetings in these categories will be held there again, and as such it has become the near-exclusive province of closed-bodied cars.

As a public road, on non-race days and when it is not closed off during the day as part of a racing event, Mount Panorama is open to the public. Cars can drive in both directions around the circuit for no charge. However, a strict speed limit of 60 km/h (37 mph) is enforced, and police regularly patrol the circuit.

The National Motor Racing Museum is located next to the Mount...

(2019) Home of the great race each year in October. And the 12 hour race early in the year. Live the dream camp out at the track or in town and watch the 4 day Bathurst 1000 live at the track. Check out the Bathurst National motor racing museum close by to the track. (2020) Of the last 30 years of Bathurst 1000 at Mt Panorama. Its the quietest weekend seen here at Mt Panorama. As for covid19 in 2020 no spectators are allowed in the pits area. There's no spectator grandstands and all seating is reserved in several areas on chairs. There's no vendors selling stuff apart from food vendors. A lot of corporate suites are practically empty or some not in use. It's a ghost spectator race. All due to covid19 restrictions. A totally different Bathurst 1000 in 2020. Thankyou for reading our review, please click on like or follow us as a local guide. © #Wozzellocalguide #wozz #wozzel Photographer 2020. A Free review...

If you like motorsport in Australia you owe it to yourself to go here. Book your accommodation as soon as you can - it soon fills up in reasonable commuting distance. My experience is based on B12Hr, not the 1000VASC. Take shade & seat - there's little of both around the grounds. Even the main grandstand opposite the start/finish line has little as the sun goes past 3pm (In Feb). No biggie, but it makes for a long day. Also, I'd recommend not using the buses, they're expensive when for little more than a single one-way you can get a pass for your car that lets you go from bottom to top. Food - actually not bad at all. Reasonable prices, and take your own water but plenty to eat and queues not too bad at all. Camping - seems to be fun, but I avoided, getting back to an air-conditioned room after a long, hot...

You’ve gotta drive it. If you are visiting Bathurst how could you fail to take a lap of the circuit. It’s iconic. You will find places to stop and park for a look at the view at skyline and at the dipper - there is a pedestrian elevated walkway along the side of the track along skyline with beautiful views. But remember it is a 60km speed limit, carries two way traffic, and has what seems to be a constant police presence. Don’t forget to stop and take a look at the National Motor Racing Museum while you are there - it is located just before you enter the track.

I came here because my husband is a big fan of cars and racing, and honestly, I’m so happy we checked it out. Mount Panorama Racing Circuit is amazing, the track is iconic and you can really feel the history and excitement just by being there. Walking around and seeing the circuit up close was something special. But the best part was definitely seeing my husband’s smiling face enjoying every moment. Whether you’re into motorsports or just curious, this place is definitely worth a visit. It’s an experience you won’t forget!

You can’t visit Bathurst without taking your car (or caravan like we did!) around the famous Mount Panorama Circuit 6.213km long. The track becomes a public road when not being used for any racing events, strict speed limit of 60km/hr. There are some steep and winding sections but just drive to the conditions and have fun! “Jonique Life” Follow our journey around Australia on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube as we highlight wonderful experiences and magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.
