My husband suggested Dome Cafe at this location. The views and ambience was peaceful and picturesque.
We placed a large food and coffee and drinks order? unfortunately the service was below average and wait time was extensive for a party of 15,most whom were overseas family who were on their way home after a family funeral.
I was rhe first to order for 5 of us and we got our food last out of the others who ordered. In fact the person whose dad had passed away got his meal extremely late. I acknowledge we ordered only 1 of the big breakfasts so that contributed to the delay.
However when we inquired regarding the late meal the woman was militant asking for a name for the order and number. She was not polite but insisted on a name. Dome in my experience do not require names but numbers. The meal came but without apology and it was clear that the person had waited beyond a reasonable time frame even without the delay in our mistake in ordering.
It left a poor impression on such a beautiful location, suburb and our experience at Dome over the years. More importantly on our oversea guests.
It is clear that the service person would benefit from customer service training and the cafe could improve food service times as we contributed...

There is a little beach area to sit on and watch the kids play either in the sand or on the shoreline. Paying customers can sit in Dome. It is also a boat ramp. Iāve easily got lost watching boats and JetSkis go up and down the river. Dome being there is a great little asset as you can get a drink or feed with an amazing view. Dome also provides takeaway. Public toilets are located in the car park with disability access also. Dome has their own toilets also. There is 3 ACROD parking spots. Itās been known that people park in the yellow stripes. It is a busy area so at times parking can be hard. There is some undercover shade huts and a couple of benches around. BYO blanket, chairs or own shade options is recommended. There is BBQ facilities but unsure if free or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat spot to relax and enjoy the riverscape and the views of the city from this beautiful point. There are two excellent playgrounds on either side of the point and a big new Dome coffee shop right on the point that has inside and outside tables. There are public places for filling up your water bottle or having a drink, beautiful lawns, a jetty that extends North towards the city from the point, barbecues and barbecue tables. Plenty of parking is available on the south side of the point in a large car park and also along the street. It is an extremely pleasant place to come for a picnic. The south side of the point is a popular water skiing place with boats and skiers often there in the summer. The photos that accompany this review were taken in the early morning in the winter. There are restrooms in the Dome of course and a large public toilet block on the south side of the point at the back of...
