The dog friendly beach at the western end of Eagle Bay is one of the few beaches which is both a good beach to swim and dog friendly. The water is shallow and calm, takes approx 75 m to get out to 1.8m deep. Great spot for families and safe for children. The ocean is clear with a white sand bottom with areas of sea grass. This location offers moderate protection from the prevailing southerly, it has to be blowing +/- 20 knots before it becomes uncomfortable. Approx 150m walk from the gravel carpark to the dog friendly area. Plenty of beach to put up an umbrella and lay out a few towels. If spending time there, pays to take own drinks and nibbles, it is a fair hike back to car then drive to anywhere which drinks etc can be purchased, (who needs that)....that is...go prepared to be self sufficient for the time you plan...

There's wheelchair accessible parking and entrance, toilet facilities, and excellent...

This walk should be started early morning to enjoy the clear morning light on the ocean. I thoroughly enjoyed watching pods of dolphin leaping out of the water at...
