One of my favourite beaches around Dunsbrough, and probably the most popular beach for families. We come in January most years and it’s always packed with little nippers on bodyboards or smiling toddlers building sandcastles in the soft sand. It’s popular with overseas tourists, and safer than most other beaches on this part of the coast. It’s well protected and calm, so safe for inexperienced swimmers and overseas visitors who sometimes lack the ability to read the current. Lifesavers are often on duty, and there’s a well shaded picnic area. There’s also an ice cream and flavoured ice van (selling Simmo’s ice cream), and plenty of parking. A great spot to spend a few hours.

An amazing beach. We go here time and time again. It is in a National Park surrounded by trees and lawns. It is patrolled by life savers during the summer season. On beautiful days the water is so clear. Great snorkeling along the rocks to the left. Has BBQ and toilet/shower facilities. You can hire paddle boards, kayaks, body and surf boards, chairs etc. Plenty of animals around including Ospreys. Very popular beach and worth spending time at.

Meelup Beach is a paradise like no other that has to be seen to be believed. I rate it as the best coastal area in Australia’s South West. Usually protected from strong winds the beach has a unique sense of calmness even when it is crowded with holidayers. My tip: Head down for a late afternoon dip around 5pm to be charmed by the sun setting out on the horizon and the clear waters glistening as the day fades away.

This is one of several quality beaches that dot the eastern shores of Cape Naturaliste north of Dunsborough in WA. The beach is accessible along Meelup carpark turnoff road and the carpark here allows for plenty of day visitors. There are public toilet and water showers to clean off sand and salt water, picnic area with grass and in the shade of mature trees near the carpark as well.

Importantly, the beach has very nice sand, turquoise water and beautiful views. While other beaches we walking past on the Meelup Trail seemed quiet and at times near deserted, Meelup Beach had a fair number of visitors including families with little ones taking advantage of the more comprehensive...

Just a beautiful natural magnificent family beach, holds many special memories for me, especially as a child and when my son was a Bub, it's such a beautiful place, more than just a beach.... When you could camp there, we used to stay in our caravans or pitch a tent....!! It was such a great place for Christmas Holidays during summer, one of many favourite beaches SW of Perth in WA.....

Highly Recommended if you're ever in Dunsborough, add it to your MUST SEE LIST, you won't be disappointed..... Great Beach & always lots of fun.....!!! You can sun bake topless to the left from the stairs on the beach and it's really an AWESOME BEACH.... Don't miss...
