If you're scouting the north east of Lake Macquarie for easy and free outdoor leisure activities, this may be a place to check out. Green Point Reserve boasts many kilometres of well maintained walking paths that are both wheelchair accessible and good for families. Along its many trails are several viewpoints and seats where you can sit back and enjoy views of Lake Macquarie, as well as picnic tables for those BYO family days. The path also leads to a couple lookouts that provide views from Swansea all the way over to Toronto. Only downside to this reserve is if you are a dog person. Dogs are not allowed in this area, even if on a lead. Highly recommended area for easy walking, picnics, and days out with a young family.

My most favourite spot in Newcastle . Right on the lake and then the track winds up into the bush. There's a track to the left that turns to dirt and then turns to a deck and then turns to stairs and eventually ends up at Valentine. This is a really good run , with great views. Still a great place to run or walk or go for a swim at the end of your walk or run βœ…πŸ™‚ One of my most favourite spots in all of Newcastle , great place to walk βœ…πŸ™‚my favourite spot in Newcastle / Lake Macquarie to go for a walk or run , simply the best βœ…πŸ™‚

Such an excellent adventure! You can start at either end of the track and have the option to take the multiple Bush trails or stay on the footpath. We started at the Greenpoint entrance and for the first kilometer were walking along the water. There are toilets at both ends of the main tracks and there's one in the middle. It takes roughly 30 minutes to stroll through. Such beautiful scenery, with a couple of lookouts to enjoy aswel as a couple of picnic areas. Footpath track is pram friendly. No dogs are allowed.
