It’s a beautiful camping spot — well maintained and surrounded by incredible scenery. The highlight is Tooronga Falls, which is truly spectacular.
Unfortunately, the experience is often ruined by excessive noise. The site has attracted a group of regulars who play loud music (i mean really loud), shout, and swear late into the night.
When I visited last weekend, several groups were yelling and blasting music well past 3:30am, completely disregarding the 20+ other campers trying to sleep. One camper even said, “It’s a free campsite, so I’ll be as loud as I want.”
Parks Victoria should consider introducing a noise curfew or ranger patrols after dark. Without some form of control, the site becomes unliveable for the average camper and entirely unsuitable for families...
Read moreBigger area than campground 2. Really well maintained by VicParks. New drop toilets were relatively clean considering how busy it was. Saturday night was only a few spots free, can be hard to find a level tent site if this is the case. Sunday night was practically empty with only a handful of dampers present. Lots of people over the weekend trying their hand at catching some trout in the little creek running alongside but didn't see anyone successful.
Definitely go for a stroll up to the waterfalls, well worth the short climb up. And don't forget to bring firewood if fires are allowed, you'll struggle to find anything left around to use. Noojee Bushgoods is a short drive for your firewood and fishing needs. Always good to support the colourful locals...
Read moreThe campsite itself was alright if a bit steep in a lot of places. When I went here after the new year the campground was almost completely packed and a bit loud. There were some nice fire pits and a lovely but cold river to cool off in but the toilets were terrible. There was pee and shit all over the seats and piles of rubbish left outside the doors with flies all over them. This could have just been the people that stayed there but it put a damper on the trip. There were some nice picnic tables scattered around and a few gravel places to park in each area. The falls themself were beautiful and I definitely recommend the walk. It’s relatively short and not super steep with amazing views and a good...
