Beautiful Bay with a gorgeous view which is worth a visit. There is layers of black sand from the historical volcano as well as pumice stones. There are rocks for climbing but also create a hazard for swimming as the waves push you into them.

There are multiple points to hike in from which are signed well. The trail has some difficult terrain. Some bits are covered in rocks and tripping hazards and other bits in soft sand which is difficult to walk through. There is minimal elevation change along the trail with a couple of smaller hills and...

This beach is well worth the walk… stunning at sunrise too! There are a few options for getting there, each is beautiful and each have a fair few stairs too… there’s quite a long steep staircase coming in from Sunshine beach! For easy parking and walking, the Parkedge Street entry is best (that I’ve seen anyway!) There’s an emergency phone and defib machines along the way too, so it’s great for...

Beautiful walk along, to arrive at the reasonably secluded Alexandria Bay beach. The water was pretty clear when we visited, although lots of jellyfish washing on the beach unfortunately. No dogs allowed on the walk as its within a...

There are a few options for getting there, each is beautiful and each have a fair few stairs too… there’s quite a long steep staircase coming in from Sunshine beach! For easy parking and walking, the Parkedge Street entry is best (that I’ve seen anyway!) There’s an emergency phone and defib machines along the way too, so it’s great for safety if needed.
