Beautiful Bay with a gorgeous view which is worth a visit. There is layers of black sand from the historical volcano as well as pumice stones. There are rocks for climbing but also create a hazard for swimming as the waves push you into them.
There are multiple points to hike in from which are signed well. The trail has some difficult terrain. Some bits are covered in rocks and tripping hazards and other bits in soft sand which is difficult to walk through.
