KATIE KATIE KATIEEEE. 1 star is far too generous. I had originally called and ENQUIRED not booked yet ENQUIRED from a couple weeks ago with a few friends to take the kids camping. I was told that they couldn’t take bookings during the school holidays?? Okay, fine. HOWEVER. I recently phoned them again to confirm the booking date and everything else. I am appalled by the behaviour I experienced with this camping ground. When I called to confirm my booking and inquire about bringing a BBQ, a staff member named Katie answered the phone and was incredibly rude. She became dismissive and unprofessional the moment I asked about the BBQ, and after hanging up on me multiple times, she outright canceled my booking after hearing my dad’s Arab name. This behaviour was not just disrespectful but blatantly discriminatory and unfathomably racist. Camping should be about community and inclusion, but this place fosters the exact opposite. Katie’s actions were unacceptable and unprofessional, and the management should be held accountable for allowing such behaviour. I strongly urge anyone, especially those from diverse backgrounds, to avoid this camping ground. Discrimination has no place in today’s world, and this business should seriously reevaluate its practices and staff training, especially and precisely for Miss Katie. It’s long overdue for her to take a crash course in professionalism, basic decency, and how to...

Visited on the 30th of December 2023. Zoo was fantastic and one of the best we have been to. The Koala demo lady was absolutely excellent and clearly knows her stuff and loves her job. The one star is based on one lady and one lady only from the cafe when we finished looking at the animals. There were 9 of us and we ordered a heap of food for lunch and she added extra things to the order by mistake and we were given two extra hamburgers that we didn’t order and just accepted them when the order came out because we paid for them and didnt want to make a fuss.. when she realised, she was quite rude towards us saying that we didn’t pay for those while huffing and puffing & throwing her weight around. We were still waiting for other items and she said “I suppose you still want the other food” ah yes we do.. to add insult to injury we were asked to pay for the hamburgers again which we reluctantly did. This lady in particular is tall blonde (older looking) with tattoos all over her arms and a really bad attitude. This lady and her alone is the only reason for this review and as a result we will never return and will spread the word. Just because you don’t like your job there is no need to be aggressive and rude. Fancy spending collectively around $500 to be treated like a thief over two hamburgers we...

This zoo was dirty, with animals in very small closures, some of the animals are walking around in circles and scratching at the glass, lots of empty enclosures and rude and condescending staff. I was scolded by your staff in a very condescending way in front of everyone at of the animal show, for putting my hand towards a small cockatoo, I have a cognitive disability, and I don't always hear instructions clearly, I was in shock by the way your staff member reacted, I didn't know how to respond and walked out in disbelief, it did not make for a good experience at all. It would have been completely fine if she reasonably and politely told me not to touch the bird, but this was very uncomfortable, humiliating and ridiculing to be scolded like a child during the animal show in front of all the other patrons, I had to remove myself as your staff member upset me so much. I could tell the other patrons were uncomfortable with the way she addressed me so abruptly. An awful day at the Zoo. If you are after a nice day out and friendly service from staff, save your money and avoid...

I recently we took my father-in-law for a VIP experience at Shoalhaven Zoo. As we are both animal lovers I accompanied him. I have to say, the experience far, far exceeded my expectations. Steph who was our private guide was exceptional, a real professional and extremely knowledgable and friendly, a great host. Right from the start we were associating with a lot of their reptiles, koalas, tortoise, marmoset monkeys, birds, meerkats, and ending with feeding one of the male lions. For a small regional zoo, the enclosures were in first class condition, as were the animals. At no stage were we rushed and to actually experience being with any, let alone all of these amazing animals, for up to 20 mins each was definitely one of the best experiences I have ever had, just incredible. Yes the big zoo's get the media but I doubt they could have delivered anything more special than our VIP experience at Shoalhaven Zoo. Had a nice simple lunch after with a lovely iced coffee overlooking the river. Highly recommended.

1 adult, 13 year old and an 11 year old. The best zoo I have visited! I have to admit that sometimes a visit out with the kids can be stressful. This however, felt like a win win for both kids and I. The zoo is set in the most stunning natural rainforest and rock facades. Immediately we were greeted by wandering peacocks. My eldest (who wasn’t keen) ended up begging to stay once he met the last monkey section. He was already making friends with the goats, horse and pigs in the petting zoo but became mesmerized by this little cutie trying to break open the nut we gave him. Fascinating! We walked through the rainforest trails as well! So many Animals to see up close, many wandering around. Lots of babies around - baby mouse, chicks, birds, bunnies, kids and fish were spotted! I loved it so much, that I’m heading back again. The wombat burrows were my all time favorite. So amazed to be cm’s from them! Well done! This is a very special zoo!

This is anice zoo situated on shoalhaven river. The road in is a little small, going to 1.5 lanes at the end section which was a little scary with a mini bus coming thevither way. There are lots of peacocks roaming everywhere, including the car park. It is a smaller zoo but really nice layout and you can either go through quickly or just stroll. There are a few animals i havent seen in other zoos, and even the price is a little high for the size, you know the money is going to maintain the zoo so you dont mind. The only drawback was the bison were quite a way off from the other animals and it can get quite hot in summer. The cafe food was okay but not too high priced and of course you have to enter and exit via the gift shop making it hard not to buy anything for your children. Overall, i recommend going a few times if you love animals.
