An beautiful and educational park/museum just a short hop from the centre of Townsville!
Parking was fairly limited so large groups should consider arriving early to avoid having to park far away.
The restored former quarantine site at the centre of the park was an interesting and educational way to start off our visit. The signage however is somewhat lacking with the whole place being a confusing clump of dated signs without a logical flow between them, but it was still interesting.

Not recommended for people with mobility issues as the path can be in even in places also this is a shared area for mountain bike riders. Read moreThis is the Many Peaks Trail in Townsville at the Cape Pallarenda Conservation Park. The trail makes up 6.2km and 191m of elevation gain of an 11.5km hike. It is made up of technical rocky rainforest sections and open grassed areas.
There are many places to stop to see the stunning views over the Town Common Wetlands, Castle Hill and the City of Townsville. Once at the top there are remarkable oceanic views of the Palm Island group.
We definitely recommend going and checking out all the trails in the Cape Pallarenda Conservation Park. Hiking or Mountain biking, you're sure to have a great time.
