Parker Coonawarra Estate — Attraction in Penola

A beautiful Saturday morning was had out at Parker Coonawarra Estate. The venue is truly magnificent and the cellar door staff are all helpful and friendly. Plenty of wines to choose from as well as specially Gin. We were there to see children's book author Rosangela Garofalo Crispino as she read her first published book Alina Piccolina and Her Adventures With Zietta. We then were given a hands on course of making Gnocchi from scratch. A truly wonderful event supporting one of our local authors.

We toured quite a few wineries in the Penola area, but by far the best was Parker Coonawarra Estate. This was our first stop of the day today. We then attended other cellar doors before returning, but unfortunately for us, it was home time for Roger - our host. We were warmly welcomed, the range of wines and gins explained, and then served by Roger. There was no pressure to purchase. We have just spent 4 days in the Coonawarra area and had 2 visits to Parker. Firstly i must say their wine is the best in the area. We arrived for wine tasting about 3.50pm on the Friday afternoon not realizing they closed at 4pm. The lady there was fantastic, she could not have been more helpful with all 6 of us. She had no urgency to get us out and could not do enough for us. We ended up leaving about 4.30pm. Well...
