If you're looking for a fun and educational experience for the whole family, Nobbies Centre is definitely worth a visit! The journey to the centre itself is a treat, with stunning views of the coastline and plenty of opportunities to spot local wildlife like penguins and geese.

One of the highlights of the Nobbies Centre is the outdoor boardwalks, which allow you to get up close and personal with the local penguins as they return to their burrows. Watching these adorable creatures waddle and play is an experience that kids (and adults!) will never forget. The coastline itself is also breathtaking, with stunning views of the ocean and plenty of opportunities for nature photography.

The Nobbies Centre is also home to a wonderful cafe that serves up some seriously delicious food and coffee. Whether you're in the mood for a quick snack or a sit-down meal, the cafe has plenty of options to choose from. And if you're looking for souvenirs or gifts, the gift shop has a great selection of locally made products and other fun items.

Another great thing about the Nobbies Centre is that there's ample parking available, so you don't have to worry about finding a spot. The staff are also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and are always happy to answer any questions you might have.

Overall, I highly recommend the Nobbies Centre to anyone looking for a fun and educational day out with the family. With its stunning views, friendly staff, and amazing wildlife, it's an experience that you won't...

The Nobbies is one of the most striking viewpoints on Phillip Island and located just minutes by car from the Penguin Parade. The Nobbies Centre was closed when we visited, but the visit was still well worth it for the scenery alone.

There’s ample parking for both tour buses and individual vehicles. The main activity here is a self-guided walk along the coastal boardwalk. The path is about a 15–20 minute walk one way - most visitors stop frequently to take in the views. The walkway is well maintained but slightly uneven and sloped in parts, so wear comfortable shoes.

The coastline is dramatic—marked by black volcanic rock, steep cliffs, and a vivid turquoise-green ocean that appears almost unreal in certain light. One of the highlights is the natural blowhole formation, visible from a designated lookout point along the trail. Further ahead, the walkway extends to a final viewpoint often associated with fur seal sightings. We didn’t spot any seals during our visit, but the panoramic views were exceptional.

Even in winter, the area is popular. Expect strong winds and lower temperatures—dressing in layers is essential. Despite the cold, the scenery feels expansive and immersive, offering a powerful sense of place. If you’re on a tight schedule or heading to the Penguin Parade afterward, allow at least 45 minutes to fully enjoy the boardwalk.

The Nobbies is not just a side stop—it’s a destination in its own right. Whether or not the centre is open, the outdoor experience is the...
