This review is NOT about the wine but about the service at the winery
We found out about First Creek after reading an online article and decided to visit the winery. From what I know now you need to make a reservation (recommended) to get a tasting. If not you are not guaranteed a place. We were told that priority is for those with a reservation. I completely understand that. If that’s how the winery works I respect that. However we were asked if we minded being outside (we had no issues with that) and then we were pretty much ignored for 10-15 mins. Not only did we have to clean our seats of dust after the strong winds (apparently giving us a cloth to wipe seats is ok) and then forgetting that they have people outside waiting for tastings completely put us off. I dislike giving bad reviews but when the service is of a poor standard then I’m left with no choice. I will never go...
Read moreAs a club member of First Creek, my first vist to the cellar door was amazing. One reason why I became a member. My experience today was the complete opposite.
We were all so excited to return to First Creek.
Admittedly we didn't have a booking however we approuched the staff and were told we could have a tasting.
Saddly, we were totally ignored. The person who met us seemed reluctant to serve us. We sat waiting for over 20mins for service, which never came. Totally ignored. Very disaplointing. We had no option but to leave, which made me feel embarased.
However, the silver lining is, we drove around the corner and found another winery, a true hidden gem! These guys treated us like royalty.
The best reisling I have had, and to my surprise a reisling from the Hunter Valley....a very rare find! Their wines and service must be commended. Thank you...

Only now do I wish we had sought out reviews for this venue prior to booking as it would seem there are a number of reviews detailing similar treatment,...
