Without any hesitation the best winery I have visited during my Hunter Valley weekend! 😍🍇
This small family business is just unique. We came to this winery because we really wanted to try natural wines and it's not so many of them in the Hunter Valley area. We arrived at the golden hour at the end of afternoon and we fell in love with the place directly. The view outside is breathtaking, especially during sunset. And the inside has a lot of character, it's tastefully decorated, I especially loved the "In grapes we trust" neon, I want the same at home now. Moreover, a lovely dog welcomed us.
The staff was so so friendly, very funny, they made the tasting an unique and intimate experience I'll never forget! We had so much fun. They explained us the whole story and why some of the wines are called after Aziza (I won't spoil you). It was only the second time of my life I was drinking natural wine and it's really delicious, and what makes it even more exciting is that every wine, every year is unique. We tried some wines first, a Semillon, a Chardonnay, a rose, a Shiraz (delicious!!) and a Burgundee, all very tasty. Then, the cherry on the cake, or I should say cherries, the Honey wine (honey and white port) was so so so good and it contains real gold, it looks just fabulous. It's wonderful to drink and to see! The final tasting was a chocolate/hazelnut/coconut liquor, I usually don't really like creamy liquor so I tried but I had low expectations and I LOVED IT. SO SO MUCH. One of the best thing I have ever tried!! We ended up buying the Honey wine and the chocolate liquor. I'll definitely go again. I might have to go really soon as I don't think this chocolate liquor will last a long ...
Read moreWe recently celebrated a very special 80th birthday at Harkham Wines, and the entire evening was absolutely exceptional. Our group of 18 was warmly welcomed, and the team went above and beyond to make the night feel effortless and memorable.
We enjoyed a set menu, and every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The two pasta dishes were real standouts—rich, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. The chicken dish was also a highlight, incredibly moist and succulent, which is no easy feat when catering for a large group!
The cocktails were another hit of the night—creative, well-balanced, and beautifully crafted. The standout was the cheekily named “I’m a local… where’s my discount?” – fun, fresh, and instantly a crowd favourite.
Service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and wonderfully patient with our large group. They managed the flow of the evening with ease and made sure the guest of honour felt truly special.
From the setting to the food, drinks, and atmosphere, everything was spot on. Thank you, Harkham Wines, for helping us celebrate such a meaningful occasion—we’ll be raving about this night for a long...
Read moreI'm usually pretty easy going so I'm not one to write reviews (especially negative ones), so this is my first Google review. Based on the reviews I read about this place, it was on my list to definitely visit this weekend. My boyfriend and I went with 2 friends and were totally disappointed. Walked through the door and the guy didn't even acknowledge us. I thought - 'maybe he's busy, let's wait for the other guy'. The 2nd guy came out of a private tasting and walked completely past us even with all of us looking and smiling at him. We said hi, and no response from him. At this point I wanted to leave, but my boyfriend and friends still wanted to give them a go. After pouring the 2 glasses, he immediately turned his back to us. No words spoken to us at all. So we walked out after this. Then we had a good laugh as they said it was one of the best reds they've ever had, SO I guess this one star goes to that, otherwise I rate this place 0/0. Shame, as they said they easily would have left with a dozen or so bottles. Great wine, with the absolute worst people to represent. There are hundreds of better wineries in the Hunter to experience; don't waste...
