Petersons Wines Broke Road — Attraction in Pokolbin

I unfortunately was really disappointed during my visit over the weekend. I’d been to a few wine tastings over the years but this one was actually quite unenjoyable. I could appreciate there were a number of people in there, but essentially, a temp staff member poured my drink and walked off each time. All I knew about the wine in front of me was the grape. At one point she told me that the curvee wasn’t sparkling and explained why. That was the only thing I learned. I asked another staff member about a potential flavoured note in one glass and her response was that the cellar door only received the bottle from the winery that morning and had had a little sip. But there was definitely citrus, she said.

There were 2 or 3 wines I could’ve bought, but I only went with one, because I couldn’t bring myself to spend more money in that establishment.

The winery really needs to send a cheat sheet to be relayed to the customers at their store fronts. Next to no info given and left at the bar to drink on my own. Left a bad taste...

I have been a loyal visitor to your winery since 2006, and Peterson Winery has always been the first place we visit whenever we come to Hunter Valley. We have never had a bad experience until our recent visit this past Saturday. Unfortunately, this time we felt unwelcome, which was a stark contrast to the warmth we've enjoyed in the past. Your wines are truly the best, and I have always appreciated the quality and care you put into them, which is why I hesitate to leave a negative review. However, I sincerely hope that you take this feedback to heart and work to improve your customer service, especially for guests from diverse backgrounds. It's important not to make anyone feel uncomfortable due to a lack of hospitality or an unwelcoming attitude. I hope future visits will reflect the high standard we've come to expect from...

Peterson's you never cease to amaze! Move over John the Pom! Kathryn is in the house! (kidding...kind of) It's been a few years between visits but every time is guaranteed fun - we think Kathryn needs her own stand up show. Can you arrange that please? Sorry I digress, back to the wine. We love the wine, your knowledge and passion for what you do is contagious. We love visiting your Broke Road and Mount View Cellar Doors. We watched as you generously gave everyone visiting you the same experience, if you don't love what you do, you had us fooled! We'll be back again, and again, and again. Don't go changing a thing!
